My husband and I stayed for 8 nights in a large apartment-style room with its own lounge and dining area. Linda and Traci-Lee are fantastic, friendly hosts offering their guests lots of tourist info and welcoming you into their home. Both hot and cold breakfasts are on offer and there are electric blankets and aircon to keep you warm in winter. Located in a quiet area a few blocks from the main section of town. Secure parking on site.A very comfortable stay!

Why? Because the Duke of Cornwall is old, but in good repair. It is attractive, and full of interesting furniture, paintings, books. Our room was spacious, our bed and pillows were comfortable, the linen was attractive and, most importantly, smelled clean and fresh. (I have a very strong sense of smell!). We were supplied with a plentiful amount of fluffy towels (which we didn't need to use). We had a door leading directly to the balcony. Unfortunately the weather was cold and very windy, but on a sunny day it would be lovely to sit out on the balcony.|Hot or cold breakfast was included in the tariff. And the tariff? $120/night!|Last but not least: the owners, Traci and Linda. Traci is a one off. Intelligent, friendly, interested in the guests, "out there" in a good way. Linda is quieter, but also intelligent and warm.|Unique is an overused word, these days, but it applies to the Duke of Cornwall and its owners.

Wonderful hospitality from hosts Tracee and Linda who went out of their way to welcome us at 3:00am after a very long, late train and bus journey.||The warmth continued all week with breakfast a time to look forward to-witty repartee, great cooked breakfasts, good tips of what to see and where and tall tales and true of legendary life in Broken Hill, especailly the highlights of the recent Broken Heel Festival.||Rooms are very generous in size, big comfortable neds, fluffy pillows and giant thirsty towels. All have a fridge, crockery and cutlery and there is a microwave downstairs in the breakfast room.||The Duke is the second oldest lodging house in Broken Hill and there is much history within and without. It wears its years well although some may find the patina of age a little distant from their shiny modernist preferences.||We loved our stay and couldn't imagine a better place to spend a few days in Broken Hill.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Duke of Cornwall for two nights. We were warmly greeted by Traci and later met Linda - both delightful, friendly hosts. The Duke of Cornwall is an historic building, lovingly restored with large comfortable rooms, private ensuite, breakfast included (yum)!, off street parking and located in the main street of Broken Hill - there are a number of pubs and restaurants within walking distance, including the famous "Palace Hotel" featured in the film, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

I stayed at the Duke of Cornwell for a few nights after taking the train from Sydney to Broken Hill. The owner, Tracy, is a great hostess. She is very warm and friendly and happily accommodated my vegetarian diet each morning at breakfast. My ensuite room was clean and tidy with everything I could need. After a busy day of sightseeing, I especially loved sitting on the upper balcony watching the sun set over the mine mullock heap - where else but Broken Hill could you experience that? The location of the Duke of Cornwall Inn, at the quieter end of town, wasn't a problem as it was an easy, level walk into the heart of Broken Hill. I would highly recommend a visit to Broken Hill. It's like nowhere else in Australia!

From the first phonecall enquiry, to the reception upon arrival, it was an absolute pleasure dealing with the owners of "The Duke" . Nothing was any trouble for our hosts, Traci-Lee & Linda. Even when dealing with a full house at breakfast time, all seemed effortless and efficient.|Our suite was homely and decorated beautifully, it contained everything we could want for a comfortable stay. Linda & Traci-Lee made us feel so welcome and the conversation in the evening over a couple of quiet drinks were a blast. They made everyone so inclusive, it will be a pleasure to again return to the "Duke Family".
