My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights. It was also our first time exploring Cairns. The service experience sadly felt frosty and lacking in empathy towards us. We were not offered any breakfast on arrival. The rooms were okay, bathroom had tissues stuffed in the sink.The only good things about the stay were its proximity to the city and vegan breakfast options.

The hotel is gorgeous with beautiful tropical plants and lovely architecture. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Some have balconies. There was a great breakfast buffet with a designated GF area. There was a small gym and a nice outdoor pool. Hotel is situated within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the aquarium.

When we arrived i made the joke that i wanted to go for a swim. This was late at night. The manager had a laugh and said sorry the pool closes at 9. All good. Wasn't till we got up in the morning that the pool was actually closed in the middle of summer for renovations. No one bothered to tell us at any point. The breakfast wasn't great either. For the price I would have expected a bit of better service in both areas.

I chose a sea view room this time to see the sea, but it's a pity that if I moved further to the left, I believe the view would be better. Check-in was very fast and cookies were provided. The room was also very clean. The scenery outside was great at night and in the morning. I was lucky to see it at night. Going to the golden moon is so romantic! There are bars and restaurants near the accommodation. The location is very good.

Arrived around 21.00 from the airport. Restaurant was closed, Vine bar was closed for refurbishment . A quite rude young lady at the front desk gave us cookies but told us there was no food or drink available at the hotel . She went on to say that there was room service , made a half hearted attempt to find a copy of the menu but then said there wasn’t one . That was it as far she was concerned. She was obviously happy to let us go without food or drink . This young person needs training in the meaning of hospitality and what it means to work in the hospitality sector. This is a Hilton hotel and we expected better. Free cookies just don’t cut it . We were rescued by a more mature ,hospitable lady who printed us a menu and brought us drinks from the ( closed) bar. This was not a good start to our stay.|Room was good,housekeeping good. Rest of the staff were pleasant enough. Location good.

My twin sister and I stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton in Cairns for 5 days this September. It's the first time we've been to Cairns. Honestly, we had the most amazing time at this hotel. Our room was on the top floor with a balcony and mountain view. Everything was perfect. We couldn't fault a thing. The buffet breakfast at the hotel was incredible. You couldn't want for more. Location - again excellent. Close to everything. The reception ladies were so friendly and helpful, all of them. Ladies, you made our holiday even more secial. All in all, one of the best holidays. We talked and laughed our way through Cairns and at the end of the day, came back to our beautiful room and watched the mist crawl over the mountains from our balcony. Thank you so much, to every staff member at the hotel. We felt really privileged to stay at the Double Tree by Hilton Cairns and had so much fun.

Was already very pleased with the price we paid for our room and once we arrived the lovely service desk staff added free breakfast to our booking! Staff were very friendly and room was superb! 😊 always a pleasure staying at the Doubletree

The rooms are OK, a bit dated, and the bathroom is tiny and an awkward shape. A small microwave would have been useful. Nice coffee maker and supplies. The staff, everyone we spoke with, were great - super kind and helpful! Breakfast buffet was fantastic!! Short walk to all the fun places. Be sure to hit the Lagoon with or without children.
