10/10. My partner & I had an engagement party to attend in town so even though living close we thought we would treat ourselves and it was worth every penny. Shanika was the receptionist checking us in, and I can’t sing her praises enough. She completely made our experience. Friendly smile & service, help with room upgrade & warm cookies on arrival (aswell as kindly taking a quick photo of us on our way out.) great staff. ||The room was 2 floors, immaculate. No noise from other rooms. Spa facilities and restaurants attached also exceeded expectations. Will be returning. Thank you!

Stayed here for one night for work. The hotel is grand with high ceilings and period features. My room was lovely with a king size bed which was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. Bathroom had the deepest bath I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately panelling was loose though so some maintenance issues. Breakfast was excellent with a large selection. Will stay again

We have just returned from a 2 night stay. Just as a couple. The Hotel staff can not do enough for you. Its clean and welcoming. The bed was really comfy along with the pillows and the shower was great! We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the buffet style breakfast was plentiful. It was all fresh and what we had tasted very good. The hotel is within walking distance of all the shops/pubs/attractions. We will certainly stay here again, thank you

The hotel was awful, waited 30 minutes to check in then coming into our room discovered it was unclean (There was stains on the carpet as well as dirt over the walls) To then find a hole in the wall and a broken shower head. When speaking to the manager he refused to move us rooms unless we paid extra this should not be the case as it was a hotel mistake not a customers. Paying nearly £200 for a room this is disgraceful. nevertheless, the manager finally decided to come look at our room where he started picking more of the wall apart saying ‘its only paint’ and rubbing his finger over the marks on the walls. He then took a look at the shower and had nothing to say. He then proceeded to try blame us for the damage even though we had checked in dumped bags and went out for a dinner reservation so we were not in the room for long. upon returning we found these issues and that when reported however the manager found this an issue as we hadn't reported it straight away. The room does also not look like any of the photos online. AND TO ADD ITS £50 FOR AN HOUR IN THE POOL. this is not stated on the website. The customer service has been appalling and wish i could give 0 stars. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Poor hotel experience. Starts right on arrival - automated doors are no longer automated. Screen at reception is broken. Staff has to try 2|Computers to get a key ready. Room has zero amenities - not even a usb plug for chargers. Carpet is old and dirty. Whole place could do with a refurb.

Very good location. The room is a good size. However, the room and all public spaces in the hotel need a thorough cleaning. The carpet in the room hasn't been vacuumed for ages. The breakfast was good, with a nice selection. Unfortunately, it is presented as a hotel and spa, but the spa requires an additional fee. This is misleading and should not be included in the hotel's name.
Parking is available for £14 fee, and it is 2 minutes' walk from the hotel

Food options are very limited, and you can’t sign for your room service. Be prepared to pay cash/credit.

Toast we ordered at the bar was grilled at the same grill they cook the bacon on. So good luck if you are vegetarian or vegan.

Towels were changed but bed wasn’t made. We left the notecard on the bed to request a change of sheets and they didn’t even see that because they didn’t make the bed.

Elevator is ancient and takes forever. If you book, choose the 2nd floor!

We left suitcases when we checked out. Asked receptionist for bag tag and she said it wasn’t necessary - she’d take care of it. When we went to get it later that day, the manager kept asking for a tag. When he finally let us collect it, he didn’t help or find someone to help. So basically he left a woman to push 2 check in luggages about 50k and a hand carry luggage around 20k to push on her own out the hotel. What a gem!

If you book at the hotel pool, bring your card, because again - you can’t charge it to your room!!!

And if you stay on the 7th floor, be warned that when someone takes a shower in one of the rooms, they can set off the alarm. We learned this around 4am on our first night, then again the next day, too.

I had a great stay here. Huge room , huge bathroom. All very nice, close to railway station and all the shopping areas. Lots of food options. Great service and great location. Close to lots of attractions. Very well priced , great value for money.
