Genuine review unbiased.
Didn't last a night on this mining camp the name is deceptive.
Noise from the neighbour woke me up no courtesy of other sleeping had to find accommodation for the remainder of the night as they seemed to be on a mission to disrupt my sleep.
Definitely not my cuppa πŸ˜•

Centrally located. But really a mining village. Site just bare dirt and hot. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would not recommend this as a stop over. After seeing the site we drove onto Emerald and stayed the night there

Outrageously over-priced park with below average facilities for travellers. A dust bowl, no kitchen / cooking facilities, average ablution blocks and zero shade or any recreation facilities. This is a mining camp, chock full of dongas. Better to free camp at the showgrounds.

They call it a caravan park but it’s not. It’s a miners camp. With only 6 van sites some with concrete slab ...ours was gravel. And jammed in like sardines...not even enough room to park the car next to the van . Amenities clean but very old . The coal trains rumble past very half an hour day and night . Only good thing about the park was the miners dining hall ....good food and plenty of it . We were suppose to stay 3 nights but left after 2. We enjoyed a game of golf and dine at the club ... Thai food very nice but I would recommend stopping max 1 night or just stop to check out the Coal Mine Centre and move on if heading west go to Alpha ...great caravan park there .

Great rooms. I have been in two of the motel rooms out the front and they have been spacious and clean. There is a fair bit of noise off the highway and train tracks but it hasn't stopped me sleeping quite well in the queen sized bed. There are no blackout curtains for night shift, but the aircon stayed cold all day so it wasn't a huge problem. Food is hit and miss, excellent some days and average others.

Stayed overnight and the bedroom and bathroom were huge with a separate toilet! Spotlessly clean, huge comfortable couch and adequate towel rails and vanity bench space for a change. Negatives were the poor condition of some fixtures, no microwave, one of some things eg 1 wine glass, 1 butter knife, 1 steak knife - not set up for a couple (most likely would have been remedied if we had asked). But this was minor for the price and overall very satisfied with the stay and would stay again.

This is a mining camp not a caravan park. ||The gentleman at reception was very polite and helpful. ||Cost - $54 for a powered site. All sites were reverse in and we had to unhook due to the small area. We were only staying overnight hence we didn't want to unhook. ||Ablution block was very clean. ||Stay elsewhere as it is no longer designed for travelling caravaners.
