Very old house and facilities. The room was very small and not sound proofing. Colocated with a restaurant on the same floor of the house that had cooking smell in the room and corridor. Facilities were old too - hot water in the shower took forever to come, the tap over basin easily splashed water everywhere and this tap didn’t have hot water if shower was not on at the same time. Shower door was very short(170cm) and not tall people friendly. In the morning the room smelt like mildew. Don’t let the picture and google ratings (supposed to be benefited from the restaurant) get you and go somewhere else.

The room was hot, air cooler not aircon was inefficient hot air was blowing back into the room thru the funnel, pillows too soft and flat, bath towels small and stiff not soft and fluffy. Not value for money. The only pros:Clean room and large bathroom, easy checkin, nice walking path along the coast, 10 min walk to centre

Pros: clean & comfy bed that's where it ends. Cons: checked in rm 9 was hot large window facing afternoon sun the air cooler not aircon was inefficient hot air funneling out back into the rm temperature remained 27deg i turned it off and opened the windows outside was 25deg. Most uncomfortable stay for 3 nights. I stayed in other hotels for same money and got better value. There were some other issues but I'll end it here.

It seems much harder generally to find a reasonably priced twin room when booking at short notice so I was relieved to find this room. For Devonport I believe that it was good value. Given a previous review I was careful using the tap in bathroom basin and it was fine. It was actually easier to fill the kettle with than with a normal tap. The shower was warm with good pressure. There was a map of Tasmania on the wall which was useful. I liked the coffee machine and the bed was quite comfortable. It was quiet at night during my stay. I had a lovely chat with the new owner Eileen (sorry if I have wrong spelling). She explained that she was a new owner, having only been there for a month, and was working on making improvements. So do not get confused by old reviews or descriptions. It was a very good location, in walking distance of the beach or the shops.

Location is the only thing going for this place!! Service is via phone call or text, codes to enter easy enough. The smell of curry on entering was overwhelming!
The room's small, bathroom needs work, toilet not flashing properly, shower head on a cord but holder hafe broken, not soap in dispenser! The mattress in room 6 is as old as the building, so lumpy you can feel it with your hand as you run it over! Over priced not worth $165 a night!! Take care in your business or get out!

Such a cosy warm place to stay and a very convenient position. We booked this motel room last minute and the owner was really lovely and helpful. We arrived late and the heater was on, the room was warm, the bed was well appointed with comfortable pillows, linen, doonas, weighted blankets and the bed itself was extremely comfortable. The separate spacious lounge room was great, with recliner rocker chairs and a good sized TV. The coffee machine was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast was included in the room cost and was great value, and was served in the adjoining cafe inclusive of full breakfast and drinks. The room was very clean and a great view out into the park lands and water. We will definitely be back here again next time we hit Davenport.

Our family stayed here for a couple of nights. The property was easy to find, plenty of parking. Great location. We must have had the worst room in the lodge, the one closest to the street. Had to walk through the hallway that stank like mildew and that carried into the room. It is not just unpleasant but also unhealthy. The room is small, especially the bathroom. The bed was comfy though and free streaming services to watch on TV. The lodge might be good for singles or couples but not for a family.

We’ve been to the cafe three times. Nice food. It’s not the ritz, but it’s still great. Lovely iced coffees. Staff are accommodating and nice, you just need to strike up a conversation with them. Little doggo laying in the corner. So cute.
