We didn't stay in their rooms but went there several times during our stay. The drinks were well priced, the verandah seats were cool even on the hot days with the overhead fans going, and it was a great place to watch the sunset. The food was amazing- crunchy chips, huge pizzas, quick service and good prices. It's one of our favourite pubs so far after 3 months of travelling the Queensland outback (and we stop at all of them).

I remember the Croydon Club Hotel; the place where they couldn't put the chips in a separate bowl instead of under the steak or the piece of fish where they would go soggy! When I was ordering I was told, "it comes as it comes". So there you go; not a fond memory of customer service. Stayed overnight in a demountable which was very, very basic in terms of comfort and convenience. Breakfast left a lot to be desired since we were told there would be a cooked breakfast but it was barely continental.

Lovely staff, with some of the best pub food I've experienced; both price and quality. Locals were all friendly and chatty. I'm the kind of person that just needs a bed and usually prefer the swag, but the accommodation here is surprisingly cheap for the quality. And I can't go past the price of beer. $6.90 for a schooner of heavy is a couple dollars cheaper than most places are charging for a can.

Great small town pub. Staff and locals were friendly. Last remaining pub from 90+ in its Hay day. They make great pizzas. Didn't stay so can't rate the rooms. Location well it's in town and the only pub.

Yet another great outback hotel. It’s nice sitting outside after a long drive taking in the Gulf Country evenings. The beer is good and cold and for some reasons always seems to taste better in these outback hotels. Foods good. They have the obligatory pool table and a couple of different accomodation options.

We loved this place. It had a grassy beer garden, in the shade, and reeked of history from an era well past. |The front of the pub had the most perfect sunset, in outback Queensland. The murals on the inner walls of the exterior were fabulous and the food was fantastic and Very generous in serving size. The staff were welcoming and very friendly.

Let me start with WOW! 1887 pub with oodles of character that is frequented by extremely friendly (and some hilarious) locals. Plenty of choice at the bar and the food, OMG! Recommend the grilled pork chops! Service is absolutely top notch. Now to the room. I gave 5 stars but could have gone to 6 or 7! Absolutely not what I have encountered in places as remote as this and a great price also. The absolute lap of luxury by my experience. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. I wish I was there for more than just 1 night. Cannot recommend it enough!
