We have just returned from 6 nights at Sun Worship. I think the location of the villas is not ideal - in the middle of residential homes with dogs that bark consistently all night and day and local neighbourhood kids screaming out at 6.30am. I would imagine downstairs would be lovely in the summertime but at this time of the year it was very cold and miserable inside and the courtyard was very damp and cold all day, thank goodness for the lovely gas heater. I believe that a Spa bath has to be maintained and cleaned after every guest has stayed, this was not the case as it was full of sand on the seated areas and had a dirty film around the top of the water. The convection microwave oven was far from clean, baked on stains all over the oven walls. The BBQ was also not very clean, by the time my husband had finished with the BBQ it was 100 times cleaner than when we arrived. The information folder obviously has not been updated for a very long time as a few things we looked for are no longer in Crescent Head, there were previous guests comment lists still in the folder (obviously they have never been reviewed), previous guests menu orders with writing all over them and old dried food stuck to bits of paper in the folder. On a positive note we did enjoy our stay, little flat screen TVs in both upstairs bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe space and lovely ensuites to both bedrooms. The upstairs bedrooms and balcony are drenched in sun nearly all day, so if you are looking for a sunny spot to sit and read this is where you need to be. I agree the bunk room is "freezing" at this time of year. The combined washing machine/dryer worked well but the handle to open at completion is a little "dicky" took many attempts to get it opened. We didn't have a problem with the spiral staircase but I could appreciate that it would not be ideal for families with little children. It is a comfortable and easy 5 minute walk into the town. Overall the accommodation was very comfortable with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. We met the people that cleaned Villa 4 and they were very friendly, polite and helpful.

My husband and I needed accommodation close to Kempsey after working away for the day. I read the reviews for Sun Worship and decided to keep looking for alternate accommodation. Since there is nothing else less than 20 years old within 45 mins we ended up booking Sun Worhsip. VERY GLAD WE DID! The accommodation was lovely, clean and new it felt like we were the first to stay there. We stayed in Villa 2 which had 2 spacious bedrooms upstairs both with ensuites, bi-fold doors onto a deck and a telivision. Great fitting and fixtures throughout and a full size fridge, there was an outside bathroom, a private courtyard and a spa. A great bunk room for kids, big TV downstairs with a full dining table and planty of bench space in the kitchen. There was only a two burner cooktop but a huge BBQ outside is much more in keeping with the holiday style. We walked in town for dinner, very easy, flat and safe 5 minute stroll. We will definitely be returning. I just don't understand how this property had been rated so poorly. Crescent is a beautiful sleepy town with very friendly locals. Great morning coffee just up the toad too...... Only negitive was the bed, it was the worst matress I have ever slept on and we needed to put the quilts down first to be able to sleep. It just seems that you get so much bang for your buck here, it is very cheap accommodation for a well appointed we designed apartment.

Great location as 5 - 10 min walk to the main shops and beach. Private two story stand alone villa with everything you need. Clean. We stayed in #5. Has an outdoor shower. It's basically 2 main rooms with en suites upstairs and then the garage downstairs has two sets of bunk beds with the bottom bunk being a double bed. Those staying downstairs can use the outdoor loo and shower otherwise need to go to the en suites upstairs.

My family and I have stayed numerous times in various villas . On all occasions the Villas were very clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . My favorite Villa would have to be Villa 5 as it seems to be larger and has direct access to the Creek where I could either walk up the creek with my surfboard to the ocean or paddle up on a Sup . We enjoyed the BBQ facilities and the open fire at night . The rooms were comfortable and spacious especially having ensuite bathrooms off both bedrooms . The kids loved the bunk bedroom downstairs . Everything is supplied . You only need to bring yourself and your bag . We absolutely loved the position and will return .

My wife,myself and 3 children(13,9 and5) have just had 6 nights in villa 4. We all loved it. I don't understand the negative reviews as the spa was beautiful and clean and the kids were always in it. We met the people who maintain the villas and they couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. They even took us through villas 1and 5. All were similar design and well maintained. Its about a 5 minute walk into town and a couple more to the beach. The bunk room is a converted garage with bunk beds but the kids enjoyed it. The only downer was not enough wardrobes but that didn't deter from a great holiday.

There are four villas side-by-side located near a mangrove creek in crescent head. The rooms are modern and well appointed, and all of the appliances are good quality as are the fittings. The spa was wonderful which the kids spent much of the day in! It was easy to cook with a good array of everything you needed.||The only real downside is the distance from the beach of about 1k, but that is also an upside if you don't want to compete with 100's of other people. It is right near a mangrove creek which feeds into a river which then feeds into the beach, so you can access some nice backwater tidal sand and mud flats which are fun for kids of all ages.||If you are looking for a secluded spot where you can cook up a storm and relax, then this is it. Nice romantic getaway.

My husband and I had a really lovely long weekend with friends (another couple) last week in Villa 5. ||||The villa is really nice - the two bedrooms upstairs were huge as were the ensuites. The ensuite I was in probably could do with a bigger shower especially given the ample empty space in there but that's me being really picky. The other ensuite had a spa bath which my friend said was amazing. ||||We had a great time just having bbq's in the back deck at night - star gazing, chatting and relaxing. There is no oven and warning - the frying pan there is useless. BUT we were more than happy to just utilise the bbq for everything. It's fantastic. Pity the river has dried up - would have been a cherry on top to have that right at the back.||||I could see how the garage where the bunk beds are could get cold at night (well in colder months) so if you're heading there in the winter i'd suggest an extra doona. But to me it looks like a great place for a gaggle of kids to hang out in. I wouldn't have more than 4 adults (two couples) stay in the villa. I guess you could have 6 if they didn't mind using the outside toilet and shower upstairs in an ensuite.||||We were pleasantly suprised with local cuisine. Yummy Thai restaurant just around the corner is true to it's name. Yummy. And I am fussy with my Thai. The tavern and the cafe near the camping grounds/beach/car park is great too. ||||I see other reviewers have mentioned that there is a house directly next door with barking dogs. I did hear them in the morning sometimes but it wasn't to the point where i wanted to scream at them. I guess I was too relaxed.||||Overall we really enjoyed ourselves - it's what you make of it! Go out and explore the area and greet mother nature with a smile.

Villa 5
Serious mould issues on ceilings and even the tea/coffee caddy. Ceiling fans are dirty. Cobwebs and mould on bedside lamps. Both bathrooms flooded into bedroom area. Dead bugs (hundreds) and old cobwebs on the kitchen louvers. In fact there are cobwebs on the ceilings throughout. The top of the fridge is greasy. Dirty windows, cultery drawers, mould in shower grout.
I wouldn't recommend this unit. I'm wondering what the $120 cleaning fee actually covers? I have taken photos for documentation purposes and will be requesting a refund for the cleaning fees. I invite a response from the property manager.
