Super friendly, basic and close to the city. No issue whatsoever recommending this place to stay. An original Lodge maintaining the spirit of this accommodation style and well kept.

Super friendly owners who was very supportive even for inconvenient late check in. They put your breakfast in the fridge in the morning so you can have it whenever you want.
The coral lodge is in a quiet neighbourhood and close to the centre. Very convenient for us.

No parking. The room and bathroom were old (which is fine) but could have been a bit cleaner.

Checkin was easy and we even had breakfast prepared in the fridge. However, the room and shared bathrooms were very dirty, really old and ramped down. The shared bathroom did not even get cleaned over night and was still dirty in the morning. Our room had dust and dirt everywhere

Super friendly owners and nice private rooms for a very decent price. When I arrived I was also happy to discover that they provide a fully equiped kitchen and if you need to check out early, they put your breakfast in the fridge the night before so you can still have it before you need to leave.
The coral lodge is in a quiet neighbourhood and has a nice garden for guests as well.

My wife and I were on a rock climbing trip to Townsville and stayed at Coral Lodge for two nights. John was friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent, very close to the CBD and even closer to Castle Hill if you're after a bit of sport climbing. Not a fancy place but very fairly priced and exactly what I was after. I hope to be back,

Very old and tired guest house. Hosts were friendly and helpful and location great to walk to anywhere in Townsville city. Free off street parking. No ensuite, shared shower and toilet facilities and rooms very basic. Advertised as a B & B, however the breakfast was very, very basic and consisted of 2 slices of bread, butter, jams, packet of cornflakes, milk and juice in a basket. Kitchen facilities to prepare basket adequate and you could make a cuppa.

The Lodge was nice and clean, had heaps of character. John was absolutely fantastic, couldn't do enough. This category of property encourages a lot of international guests which makes for some great conversations.

Highly recommended.
Lovely vibe. Very clean.
Super comfy bed with firm mattress that supports your back really well (we got the double bed).
John was very nice to give us the whole unit, we basically got a private bathroom.
Moreover, it was very helpful that we could check-in late as we arrived from Cairns by greyhound and took a local bus (easy bus connection, not much walking, costs A$ 2.40 per person) and managed to arrive around 9.30 pm.
Breakfast was given right away, to store in the fridge in our unit, which was really convinience.
Wifi is also very good here.
