The rooms are very clean and tidy, bed was comfortable. We went to the pub for dinner and was absolutely amazing. Had the TBone and the Steak chips and salad. Was tender and so much flavour! Perfect stay and feed! 10/10 recommend!

This motel is tired and old-looking. Maintenance has been poor, at least on the cosmetic side of things. For $180 we got peeling paint, a window blind that didn’t cover all the window and so let the outside lights shine in all night. We got a mini-fridge with a slightly rusty dented door and a room that we didn’t feel we wanted to be in. That said, the room and bathroom were immaculately clean but the scruffiness of the place made it feel dirty. The cleaner does a great job; the maintenance man/woman does not! In fairness, the fridge worked, the shower worked, the toilet worked (but was noisy), the air con worked. The bed was quite soft but it was to my liking and I had a comfortable night’s sleep, despite the fact that each of the beds makes quite a noise when you turn over. My partner found the bed too soft but you can’t please everyone! All the bedding felt perfectly clean. Due to the aged, unkempt nature of the motel and the room I stayed in, I would not choose to stay here again. Bonus for staying here…… there is a modern, new pub/restaurant/conference centre right at the motel. It was great!

We stayed at Copper City Motel in Cobar because it was a convenient stopping point after a long drive up from Melbourne. It proved to be an excellent location to explore Cobar and its mining heritage. It is very close to the Cobar Miners’ Heritage Park and the Great Cobar Museum which opens at 8:30 am so it is possible to see these early before setting off for another long day’s drive.||We booked a budget double room for just one night. The motel is all ground floor access with parking out front of your room. You could sit at a table with 2 chairs outside your room. We were back from the main road so it wasn’t too noisy, however, you do hear cars leave early in the morning. It was fully booked on the Thursday night when we stayed and many workers seem to stay here. The reception is open to 6 pm and you just key drop when you leave. Checkin was easy and we got helpful advice about what was around backed up by a detailed booklet in the room. There is a pleasant restaurant with a bar open till 10pm (though the menu was different from that in the booklet) and across the road there was popular kebab van. More restaurants were in town. It was too cold to try the on-site pool.||The room we stayed in was quite narrow with just room for a double bed and one bedside table. Near the entry is a small built-in table with a chair. It had a mini fridge and a kettle, coffee, tea, milk, bottled water, sugar cups, toaster, small plates, disposable wooden cutlery, two glasses and two wine glasses. It had a soft mattress but only two pillows and one blanket (no doona). The reasonably sized TV was obscured on one side from bed. There is an over bed light and power points near the floor on either side of the bed. The bathroom was basic with a curtained shower recess and simple sink but it had hot water, good water pressure, towels and toiletries.||Unfortunately, the room was a bit too narrow and the dark grey and white decor with the bathroom in beige was old-fashioned. We couldn’t get Wifi. There was no hanging space, just a bar that might work if you bring your own coat-hangers and we don’t. Our major issue was the old style air conditioner which was very noisy and we had to turn it off. It got quite cold and there were no extra blankets. We ended up bringing in a sleeping bag from the car for the night.

Giving 4/5 because it was what we expected for the price, and a point for location. Staff were lovely, room was reminiscent of stays in the past but still tidy and clean. Plenty of space for me and my three kids for the night. Perfect walking distance to town so we could stroll the main street in the evening. Great way to break up the long haul drive to Broken Hill. Thank you.

The Copper City Motel offers a comfortable stay with some notable improvements in service, thanks to recent changes in staff. The team now seems genuinely committed to providing a welcoming experience, and their friendly demeanor makes a positive impression from check-in to check-out. The staff's attentiveness and willingness to assist with any queries or issues are commendable, reflecting a marked improvement in service quality.

However, the rooms themselves are somewhat dated. While they are kept clean and well-maintained, the decor and furnishings could benefit from a refresh. The older style may appeal to those with a taste for nostalgia, but others might find it lacking in modern comfort. Despite this, the rooms are equipped with all the basic amenities needed for a short stay, including free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a decent selection of TV channels.

The overall atmosphere of the motel is quiet and relaxed, making it a suitable choice for travelers seeking a no-frills experience. The location is convenient, with easy access to local attractions and dining options. Parking is ample and easily accessible, which is a plus for those traveling by car.

In summary, Copper City Motel is a solid option if you're looking for a modestly priced stay with good service. While the rooms could use an update, the improvements in staff professionalism make it a worthwhile choice for a comfortable, if not luxurious, visit.

I could have accepted the very basic room had it not been for the errors made at booking. I specifically phoned to make the booking for two senior couples in a family room and was quoted $190 which I accepted by giving my cr card details to book. On arrival we were told there was a mix up and that room wasn't available but the lovely receptionist tried her hardest to sort things out but had to offer us a room with one queen and a sofa to fold out which we accepted. Then the crunch came, that the cost was actually $210 (which had already been deducted from my cr cd) and not $190 as quoted. This was not a misunderstanding on my part as I had written the amount down and also txt amount to other couple immediately it was booked. We were told $210 was the price for family room...but we didn't end up with that and wasn't quoted that price. They had my mobile number but at no point did anyone call to notify me. Not happy at all as there was no leeway or discount for their errors. The room was reasonably clean but needed maintenance. Would not stay here again because of this and would not recommend it.

Something wrong when a business phone doesn't answer and the message bank is full (booked through Booking.com but ringing to advise late arrival). Very basic, shabby room. Creased bedspreads, chipped paint everywhere, only one chair, no microwave, disposable cutlery which broke cutting up some strawberries, frig shelves broken so couldn't put in a litre of milk or water. Light comes in all night from a glass panel over the door and around the blind which doesn't cover the window facing the carpark. Very thin walls so very noisy. Overall very disappointing and compares very poorly with similarly priced budget motels also in rural /remote areas. ||On positive, the restaurant at their pub (marked as closed on the check-in info) served a lovely lamb rogan josh.
