Cooroy Library is a fabulous little place. From a kid-friendly area to a bank of public computers; a study room and an outside area. There is a lot packed in for all different needs.

Absolutely beautiful library, we were greeted beautifully by staff at the front door with us acknowledging we had only 20 minutes to spend in the library and being encouraged by staff to come in. Only ten minutes later for some staff gently called out a warning that they were closing in ten minutes(which was fine) to turn into one staff member telling us we needed to get up and leave so that they could be packed up in time for closing time still with ten minutes to spare. We knew when the closing time was but were suprised we were actively asked to put our books away and leave to enable this staff member to have everything packed up before 1as in she stood in front of us until we put the books away. For the record we had two books for the two of us, were sitting quietly and reading them, having no intention of borrowing. She also did this to others who had no mess/intentions of borrowing and stayed with them until they actually got up and went to leave.

Really enjoyed our visit to see the award winning design of this small regional public library. External design very pleasing as it fits into the previous industrial landscape and internally has sufficient spaces set aside for quiet reading, discussion, using technology and so on. Plus a visually pleasing link from the inside to the 'green' space outside.

This library is like a mini-MONA with the layered architecture and green roofed level. Very special. What a fabulous local public resource. Worth a visit if you are in town or passing through.
