The weather wasn't the best on the day but Branioc tried to make the best out of it. I love his enthusiasm and the way he explained what we were gazing at. The group was a manageable size and everyone was so respectful and showing interest. I joined another stargazing session with a different operator and sad to say the experience was chaotic. I highly recommend Branioc and his team for the stargazing experience. They may not have the best spot for it but the enthusiasm and experience made up for it.

Everyone needs to visit the Siding Springs Observatory and take an Anglo-Australian Telescope Tour.
Five Stars !
Branioc was amazing with his stories, his factual information and his enthusiasm for this absolutely "made-in-Australia" engineering feat!
Without this facility, the rest of the World would be scratching their heads to create.
It's 50 years young and a wonderful sight to see.
Without Coonabarabran Stargazing offering tours, Siding Springs Observatory may not be as good as it is!

This was an amazing experience. We sat in the open with the stars above us.
Our guide was first class, he explained everything and we were able to see the rings of Saturn and many other stars. They use two portable telescopes and we all took turns to stargaze. Highly recommended.

We went on the Anglo-Australian Telescope Tour. The tour guide, Branioc Rankin, The Coonabarabran Stargazer, was an extremely knowledgeable and entertaining guide ? We had a fabulous time and would recommend it to our friends and family members. 5+ stars ?

Branioc held a great Stargazing experience at Getaway Tourist Park. He was informative, passionate and knowledgeable. The evening was perfect for stars but too early in the year to get a good look at the planets… ( more October/November) We will be back. ✨

Amazing experience on a clear night sky. The host was very informative and took time to answer all the questions asked and gave us amazing facts for each of the sightings. He made sure everyone in the group got their turns to view the stars and planets. We went there as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. My wife had step out to attend to our toddler and couldn’t participate for the whole tour, but the host was kind enough to accommodate her at the end of the session and made sure that she did not miss the event. We couldn’t stop talking about the experience even after returning home and will definitely visit again soon!

Wow what an experience seeing the stars up close through a telescope in a dark sky environment. Even though it was a freezing night for me (4 degrees I hate the cold) I couldn't leave the 90 min star gazing experience in Coonabarabran. Our star guide Branioc was knowledgeable, informative and enthusiastic his love of the universe was infective. Gazing through the telescope's viewer was amazing dark spots in the skies came alive. Questions were welcomed. Recommend this reasonably priced experience.

This is a must-do experience if staying near Coonabarabran. Branioc, who runs this, has a wealth of knowledge and his passion for the night skies is infectious. He took the time to answer all questions fully and made sure everybody had a turn looking through the telescope and could fully see what he was describing. As this event takes place at night be prepared to dress accordingly - it was freezing in late May. One more word of advice, the only toilet belongs to Coonabarabran Getaway Tourist Park and is only accessible to people staying there.
