Wanted a quick bite to eat and decided for some grilled seafood and fish. Salad was also tasty. Got a seafood platter for 2 which was A$56. Quite reasonable and I appreciate we could swap the chips for salad. We will be back!

NEVER COMING BACK.
Rude staff member ruined lunch.
My husband, baby and I came here for lunch. Was craving a post pregnancy seafood hit. Ordered oysters, chips and prawns.
Asked staff if they had peeled prawns, as I couldn't get messy while taking care of a newborn. The nice young girl said no we don't, but I can peel them for you.
We thought great! Thanks so much, what a lovely young girl.

We sat down to enjoy lunch, then this Rude old lady came out accusing us of wasting her time. 'She has better things to do' 'she's gonna be there all day peeling those prawns'
'We've never done that' treating us as absolute trash for asking for a peeled option.

Absolutely appalled at how we were spoken to, I would have been more than happy to get something else. We were nothing but polite, perfect customers. We did not deserve to be spoken to this way.

Unfortunately, not a good first experience here. My husband went to order for us and asked for grilled Barra, chips, aioli, spring roll, kabana, potato scallops and a seafood stick. He forgot to ask for chicken salt because the waiter rushed him up.
After waiting for 1 hour for takeaway (not given an estimated time for cooking), we were given battered barramundi instead of the grilled, which I can’t eat as I’m gluten intolerant. And my husbands seafood stick was extremely tough. My husband had to eat everything and I could only eat the chips. My husband tried to ask for cutlery but the man carried on serving someone else.

Seafood was lovely, especially the calamari. However the chips were awful. Looked and tasted like they were 4 days old and microwaved. $15 worth of chips in the bin which was a real shame.

Hi Trent - It was last night 4th August. 6:30. Orders 86 & 66 (guessing) Happy to take this offline and delete this review.

We asked the girl taking orders if the fish we were getting was fresh or had it been thawed from frozen. She replied that it was fresh. What we got was most definitely NOT fresh fish. When breaking open the cooked crumbed fish I could tell immediately by the colour of the flesh that it had been thawed from frozen & had been pre crumbed before it had been frozen. It was almost dry cured. We believe when customers buy Fish & chips they are expecting freshly caught fish with tasty white tender juicy flesh. We were astonished that this Fish & Chip shop would serve up such gross food. If we had been in our own country we would have taken it back & demanded a refund but we were on our way to the airport to fly out. We felt totally ripped off & recommend readers steer clear of this place.

The fish and chips were sooo good! The basket for two was soo huge and definitely worth it. The prawn cutlets and fish bites were really good, and I wouldn’t have thought to get them if it wasn’t for the basket! Only thing is I would love some more tartar sauce as it’s delicious so definitely get some extra.

Had an amazing time at Coolum Seafood whilst up on the Sunshine Coast recently. Some of the best Fish & Chips i've had in a long time and brilliant location opposite the beach with great bar options as a bonus. The team were very accommodating and wasn't that long a wait for the food to arrive. The new owner Trent is a hard working local too. I will be back for sure

I don't often give a poor review. And it may be that it was a bad night for them. But possibly the worse fish and chips I can remember having. The snapper was very tough. The chips were overly dry. The prawn cutlets consisted more of breadcrumb coating than prawn. The only redeeming item was the potatoes scallops.
