I was at the club today and had the steak which was excellent, I’ve read a review on here from last week claiming they did not enjoy their meals. Sometimes I wonder if people just write things to complain. We came with a group of four and everything was perfect. Loved the chicken boscaiola too which I did get a photo of.

I must be spoilt. I thought restaurants were in high competition and delivering better than ever.
If you want a good steak do not bother
We ordered their best - the sirloin for $36 each . 250 g. Medium rare. Could not get past the burnt taste. We both immediately commented. And was it tender? No . Not at all. Tasted more like a rump . I have no idea what they did to it but was too embarrassed to send it back.
The vegetables were sublime. 5 beans and let’s have some potatoes with our potatoes ..

We also got the garlic prawn entree for $22. Wow. 4 prawns swimming in their tomato purée.

Cannot finish and when we finally mustered up the courage to discuss it they said this is the taste they were going for and we should order it grilled next time.

It’s ok we have a dog. It will not go to waste.

Under new management this bistro offers a delicious range of meals. Great service and great food, a winning combination! I loved the easy mid week meal!
Having attended events also in the upstairs rooms surpassed my expectations! A great venue for small or big family gatherings and the food was beyond. Carmel and her team work hard to deliver.

We had my partners surprise 30th in the function room upstairs and it was beyond expectations. Every guest complimented how good the food was, it wasn’t your typical bland set menu it was amazing Italian food!!!! Marisa was great help the days prior and on the day organising final details and making sure it was a surprise! Carmel helped organise everything form day 1, she was amazing!! I will definitely do a function here again, thank you to Five Dock RSL for making the party happen. Also the function room has had such an upgrade since renovation in the recent years. It’s a great place for a special event or birthday.

The Bistro beats every Club in the area on quality of food, value for your $, an amazing menu choice and good old fashion service from the people who now own it.
Friends from the northern suburbs came on Saturday night and said it was better than anywhere they’d been in a while and they’d definitely be back.
Another friend has told me that Thursday night Trivia is great and they have dinner beforehand. He said that Carmel is a gem !
So many options you won’t be disappointed!

Since Carmel took over, the food and service have really improved. Everything tastes fresher and is made with more care. The staff is friendlier, and the whole experience feels more welcoming. You can tell there’s real passion behind the scenes now. Highly recommend and outstanding service ♥️

Love this place!!! The new management at the bistro are awesome. Great food. The upstairs for functions is so good. Love the space and decor. Been a few times now for dinner and for some functions. Would highly recommend this place for all your family and corporate events.

This is the first time I visited, I really enjoyed the meal it was first class for a peasant, the club itself at least on the ground floor was pleasant, I am sure I will be visiting again 😁
