My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Closeburn, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Paul and Steve have put their heart and soul into creating a welcoming and memorable experience for their guests.

The gardens are absolutely stunning—a peaceful oasis that adds so much charm to the property. The attention to detail continues inside, with lovely decor that exudes warmth and character. Our room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had such a fresh, inviting scent that made it feel extra special.

Paul and Steve were wonderful hosts, always friendly and attentive, making sure every aspect of the stay was just perfect. Closeburn is a true gem, and I can’t wait to visit again!

My partner and I had the wonderful pleasure of staying at Closeburn House last Friday. Set in an immaculately restored 1800s guesthouse, this is one of the best hidden treasures you will find in the Blue Mountains.

Steve and Paul’s service and hospitality is second to none, everything from their warm welcome to the excellent home-cooked breakfast and cozy atmosphere will make you feel right at home.

I had the most wonderful stay at this charming hotel in the heart of the Blue Mountains. The location is great, offering lovely views from the garden and easy access to the area’s top attractions. Paul and Steve were also the best hosts. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make me and my partner feel welcome, offering personalized recommendations for local attractions and dining. Their warmth and genuine care created a home-away-from-home atmosphere. The attention to detail in the rooms and the cozy common areas reflected their passion for hospitality. This was such a beautiful place to stay. Initially I was going to stay at Lilianfels where we had dinner in the evening but decided, after seeing the reviews for Closeburn House, to stay here and I'm SO glad we did. The service was much friendlier and it was a far more personal experience, plus there were no children running around screaming which was nice for a change as I've found this to be a buzz kill at other places in the Blue Mountains. (nothing against kiddies but it's nice to have that peaceful sound of silence or soft music sometimes).||Closeburn House is super homely yet luxe. Everything was extremely clean and tidy. The beds are so comfy with 4 pillows which is a must for me. The bathroom was also immaculate, equipped with a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and body wash plus other cute touches. ||The wifi was super speedy so we watched Netflix in bed on the iPad for a bit and it didn't cut out at all.||There are several rooms to sit in and enjoy a drink or chat with your partner/friends. I'm already planning my return trip in the winter so I can enjoy the fireplace in the gorgeous sitting room. All the rooms are styled so beautifully and have a calm vibe, white/neutrals and greys with subtle pops of colour that compliment the exterior gardens. The gardens were so pretty in Spring when we went. It's an easy drive into Katoomba or Leura and parking is very convenient. ||Although this place is stunning and immaculate, the service is very down to earth and friendly which makes this an extremely pleasant place to stay. We felt very comfortable and welcomed. I highly recommend booking this place, you won't be disappointed!

Steve and Paul maintain an immaculate and beautiful heritage guest house with the kind of indulgent and delicious breakfast that beats most 5 star hotels. The gardens are perfect at this time of year and we had forgotten how gorgeous and impressive the area is. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable - didn’t want to leave.
