Clifton House is an amazing place to stay and explore the whole beautiful Huon Valley Region, everything is so close. The property is full of history and the Cottage that we stayed in was beautifully furnished and stocked with wonderful produce and quality products.|The hosts Graham and Caroline are wonderful people, they have great knowledge of the area and are always happy to help and have great communications. We were lucky enough for host Graham to give us an extremely interesting, guided, history tour of the property including the kiln||some tips in this area, all an easy drive from Clifton House| - the information centre in close by Geeveston is full of helpful knowledge as to where to see platypus in the river along the platypus walk (its free).|- Tahune Airwalk and Suspension Bridges are well worth the visit.|- The town of Cygnet is lovely, good food at the Old Bank Cafe||I believe you will find that your stay at Clifton House will become one of your very special highlights of beautiful Tasmania.

Such a lovely place to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. Thank you to Carolyn and Graham for their wonderful hospitality. Our room was beautifully decorated and our hosts ensured that we had everything we needed. The breakfast served by Carolyn was delicious. We also enjoyed hearing about the history of the homestead from Graham's extensive knowledge. We certainly recommend this property for a relaxing stay. Thank you Carolyn and Graham

Stayed 2 nights in the Bramley suite. The spacious room was luxurious with a modern bathroom. Rose garden view. The whole property is beautifully decorated and simply majestic. High quality breakfast (fresh locally grown berries, coffee, muesli, cereals, toast and home-made jams).

Clifton Homestead Bed & Breakfast||If peaceful, historical, unique, tranquil, rural are terms that come to mind when deciding on a Tasmanian holiday location, then Clifton Homestead in the Huon Valley ticks all the boxes.||Stay in the beautifully restored mid 1800’s house, or one of two separate cottages on the 5 acre grounds. We stayed in Cherry Tree Cottage, where you look out the windows to see free roaming chicken, rabbits and wallabies. ||What other accommodation has its own restored and converted “Oast House” where hops were once dried and stored, and where now you can enjoy fine dining within the old furnace, or the more spacious storage area. If you are not sure what an “Oast House” is, or what hops were used for, your host Graeme is just waiting to give you a fully illustrated history of the house and the old business.||Wandering around the common areas of the house, you will come across many artefacts from around the world, collected by Carolyn and Graeme which they will be delighted to tell you about. This is a wonderful place for a memorable holiday. Ours certainly was.

We have just returned from a beautiful stay at Clifton Homestead in the Huon Valley.
My husband and I chose the cosy Cherry Tree Cottage located out in the garden and my sister stayed in a gorgeous large bedroom in the main house. A simple but very tasty continental breakfast was included in the nightly fee.
After an 11am check out this morning we ambled over to the relatively new Kiln Restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious, very eclectic taste of flavors in the Oust house.
Our overnight stay at this wonderful property in Ranelagh (half an hour from Hobart) was an awesome getaway for the three of us and we had the pleasure to meet and chat with the owners Graeme and Carolyn and to hear about Carolyn’s new botanical gin venture which we look forward to tasting one day soon.

Just spent 2 lovely days in the cottage at Clifton. Beautiful!! Carolyn was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was gorgeous, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The Kiln restaurant was 5* with a great menu and terrific service. Highly recommend this accommodation!!

My partner and I have stayed twice in the Paint Shed Cottage and loved it. Great location a short drive out of Hobart. The owners are lovely. The cottage was private, the bed very comfortable and warm, and it has a beautiful bathroom. We loved making a coffee in the kitchenette and enjoying it walking on the property grounds and down to the Mountain River. The stunning Oast House has a great restaurant in it too. Highly recommend.

We spent as a group (5 couples) a wonderful two nights at this beautiful place. Had our main meal (specially cooked by our host) as a group in the dining room one evening and follow-up breakfast on site. Very welcoming hosts. Before we left our host kindly showed up through the historical site and provided a lovely presentation on historical elements. Worth the visit and stay!
