Great place to stay with family and friends. Plenty of living space and good rooms with superb views. Rooms have all the necessary features and are cozy enough for a weekend getaway. The kitchen has all the bells and whistles a modern home would have, like cooking range, microwave, refrigerator, hot water, and a pantry stocked with good food and groceries. There are ample parking spaces and easily accessible to the road. The ambience is serene and quiet, except for a brief early morning visit by the local kookaburra to let you know that it's morning. Overall a great place to visit and i would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Bad:||The television reception in the bedroom was sketchy. Not a big deal but as there were limited tv stations to choose from, it would have been nice to have access to a DVD player.||There are a number of stairs to the downstairs section of the house. It wasn't a problem for us, however older people may find this difficult - just something to be aware of.||The bed was low to the floor and the pillows were a bit flat for us. Luckily we found extra pillows which made our second night stay more comfortable. ||Be aware that although the house is only 500m from the main street and railway station, it is up a VERY steep hill! We like to walk everywhere, but even this hill was a bit of a challenge for us! If you have a car and plan to drive everywhere, then it wont be an issue.||||The Good:||This is a shared house style accommodation, with separate bedrooms with ensuites, and a communal lounge and kitchen space. Distance to the railway station and main street is only 500 - 600 metres, down a very steep hill.||Communication with the owner, Lee, was excellent. She even met us at the place to show us around and ensure everything was ok. We had a room on the lower floor which had access to an outside balcony. The room was a good size. The bathroom was good with a hot shower. The bed was comfortable, but it was low to the floor like a Japanese style futon, so may not be suitable for older people.||We had access to the entire house and as there were no other visitors staying, we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet and privacy by ourselves. ||Overall, a quiet and comfortable stay in a clean and tidy house, close to Belgrave Station and Puffing Billy.

A great place to stay with the family following our daughter's wedding at nearby Lyrebird Falls. We booked all five bedrooms for $500 so it was great value for my two sons and their partners and the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Lee was very helpful with my booking and was there to greet us on our arrival before we headed off to our daughter's wedding. Each room has its own bathroom and was clean and well set out. In the morning we were able to make ourselves a coffee before we checked out. The view of the bush land was good too. The only improvement I can think of would be a new shower head, it was pretty small and better pillows. I don't think I would like to stay here if there were other guests I didn't know staying here as it has a shared kitchen and lounge area.

We stayed here for the night as we were doing the puffing billy dinner dance and didn't want to drive home. This accommodation is very close to the station which was great for us but the hill if walking home is a killer!. Lee was very friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable. Lee had gone to the trouble of putting the heater on in our room before we got there. ||I recommend this accommodation and for the price it was excellent value.

Great place to stay We had a room with a balcony view It was like staying in the tree tops Excellent if your planning a Puffing Billy trip! Very neat and clean and our hostess was exceptionally friendly Bring your hair dryer....TV Mini fridge in room Great Common space Highly recommend

I recently had to put up my nephew and his wife from Wales in a place close to the start of Puffing Billy. Clarelee fitted the bill exactly. It was comfortable and friendly and my relations had a very relaxing overnight stay. They marvelled at the magnificent view from their bedroom, but even those in non-view rooms (I presume there are a couple) can enjoy it from the spacious and comfortable lounge. A short all-downhill walk brings you to the Puffing Billy station

Well, this web site and the lady running this place was lovely but i have to be totally honest when i say that this is NOT a B&B and not Boutique accommodation, this is a Share House. The rooms are very sparse and sad, the beds were absolutely terrible and the sheets and towels so old that they were asking for replacement. The shower was very unclean and there wasn't even any soaps or anything provided. You need to really consider that if you want a warm dry room for the night in a share house that may have people falling down the stairs during the night drunk !!!! yes thats what woke us up, then this is ok. It is not a B&B and not a boutique hotel it is share accommodation with a great communal kitchen and as their is absolutely not signage out the front wouldn't be surprised if this was only meant to be for smaller parties.

We stayed for one night in a downstairs room with our 8 year old daughter. As mentioned in a previous review, I felt this was more of a share house not a B&B as the host Lee (who was very friendly, I should add) did not stay at the house that night so you take the risk about whether the other guests will be quiet or not.||There were people staying in the other 4 bedrooms. It was quite noisy until 11pm. At 10pm one of the other guests burnt toast in the kitchenette in the hallway outside our bedroom which set off our smoke detector. I heard children squealing and footsteps in the lounge room above our bedroom until 11pm. Also, the room was quite musty. But the price is low, particularly for the Dandenongs, so just be prepared.
