We had a fantastic stay at Circa 1902! It was such a lovely touch to be greeted by Sally on our first visit, making us feel right at home. The accommodation was an absolute bargain, especially considering it was a long weekend.

The restaurant was excellent, offering delicious food and a great atmosphere. We were aware that the bathrooms were shared, but it didn’t bother us at all—everything was spotless. The rooms were on the smaller side, which is to be expected in a beautiful heritage building, but they were cozy and well-maintained.

The only thing we forgot was to ask for a fan, as it was quite a warm weekend. However, with the window open, it was comfortable enough to sleep. The bed was soft and beautiful, making for a restful night.

What we appreciated the most was the warm hospitality of the hosts. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference. We will definitely be back—five stars!

Adversied as a guest house to what looks like a beautiful establishment we were horrified at the state and conditions of the place. We stayed here with our two kids ,the room was disgusting, smelt really bad and not properly cleaned with what looks like red wine spilt all over the wall against the bed ,the beds were very uncomfortable, the mattress was clearly very old and you could feel every spring against your body, our family woke with bed bug bites . The shared bathroom was gross food ,hair and ants all over the floor , and if you wanted to have a shower forget it there is no water pressure but a trickle of water . Other guest were playing very loud music until 3am drinking and smoking in a non smoking hostel ,the fire exit was apparently also structurally unsafe so not sure how this even complies. Would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you want a disease.

Rooms were small but appropriately furnished. Staff and owners were friendly and helpful.
Bathroom could have done with a bit more cleaning but it wasn’t the worst one I’ve ever been in!

It was lovely to meet Sally and Chris - we were thankful that they left the key with a note in an envelope at the front desk as we weren't sure what time we'd arrive. The convenience was nice and we later met Sally who is amasing. We also spoke to Chris and were pleased to meet the other half who gave us lots of tips for the area as we had never been to Queenscliff before. We loved the room as it was massive and had a fridge along with teas, coffee, water and a kettle. There was a fan and a lovely breeze through the window. A heater and t.v. if we needed it. The beds were clean and there was a lot of accents as the space is well loved. The bathroom is down the hall but we didn't mind - a few steps and we had access to the showers and toilets. ||The hotel/restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and we felt so lucky to be there. The sea ferry is 4 mts away as is the Bellarine train who does the Polar Express during December. The town is absolutely bustling with the cutest vintage vibes and shops from an era long passed. There are roof tops bars that allow you to see the whole of the area and you can't not see water so if you're a water lover this is place is for you. |||The hospitality was exactly what we needed - we had never been here before and never been to Queenscliff but pleasantly surprised by the hospitality and the welcoming energy. These two are clearly working so hard and i can't imagine the effort they put in. It's def. now one of our favourite spots - this is a business privately run and its easy to feel like part of the extended fam when you're here. It's just the vibe of this place and it was so wonderful to be a part of that 🙂

I stayed here last night, place booked by my friend, horrified when we opened door 19. Decor aged, carpet smelt, no proper power points or lights close to the beds. Mattress terrible, no mattress protector, no overhead fans. Shared bathroom not very clean. One toilet leaking. I later viewed the fire escape only to fined that the notice on it said it was an unsafe fixture and only use in a dire emergancy. Very reassuring not. I understand the place has a heritage overlay, but really should it have an accomadation licence. For 230 dollars on a Saturday night in Gippslands tourist towns we can find good accommodation . The adds on booking do not reflect how bad it is. To me it was a D grade back packers

Disappointing. Circa 1902 rooms are very poorly appointed and maintained.... similar to a very basic youth hostel but with the charm of an old historic building that is unfortunately not being sufficiently looked after.|The shared kitchen is a tiny room with very few facilities, no plates nor cutlery, no sink nor running water. No laundry facilities. The shared bathrooms are also very poorly appointed and shabby. The front desk is rarely manned and cleaners do a very basic job.|The upstairs balcony was the best feature of the hotel accommodation with nice views of the main street.|The restaurant at ground level is quite lovely and has a good chef and staff.

We had dinner last Friday evening at Circa. Our meals were delicious and it was difficult to choose what to have from lots of lovely options on the menu. The restaurant is lovely and cosy on a cold Winter's night with the open fire blazing. The staff were great and the cost was very reasonable. We will be back whenever we are down.

HIGHLY over priced for what you get in a room. I could barely swing a cat in the room. There was no TV remote anywhere in the room, and I looked everywhere for it. Awful flat pillows and a matching mattress. Shared toilet and shower facilities. Dusting is definitely not a cleaning chore. The few decorating things in the room, e.g. lamp, cushions etc. looked like they had been picked up at an Op Shop. The only truly good thing was the location.
