From the welcome to the farewell my husband and I can not falter this establishment. It is very modern and clean, nice room, comfortable bed superb bathroom. But the owner's eye for detail was probably what will make us remember our stay at Chaucer Palms Boutique Bed and Breakfast for ever. There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate satchels, wonderful biscuits in the common room and there was even an knock on our door in the late afternoon from the owner, asking us if we'd like a complimentary beer or a glass of wine, which unfortunately we had to decline as we were going out to dinner and then to a show at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre. The walk to and from the Entertainment Centre took us an easy 20 minutes each way. You get to choose breakfast from a varied menu, it was delicious. This accommodation is located in Hamilton and is within a five minutes walk to Beaumont Street, which has a great atmosphere and offers restaurants with many different cuisines. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Nice B&B in Hamilton close to shops, cafes and restaurants. Bathroom was really nice. Bed very soft. Nice balcony. Julie was very friendly and the breakfast was very nice.

Me and my fiancee decided to book a room at Chaucer because of the good reviews on here, and we're very happy we did! Absolutely perfect place. Rooms are spotless and modern, the breakfast is delicious and the hosts are friendly and did everything they could to make our stay memorable.||||We've been travelling around Australia for a while now, and this is by far the best place we've booked. ||||If you're staying in Newcastle, I would highly recommend staying here.

We had two nights here to catch up with family before continuing our train journey up the coast. What a relief to stay in a Cool, clean, quiet, convenient and friendly (but not at all intrusive) hotel (and providing and good breakfast menu) as Chaucer Palms. Frightfully hot time of the year but the A/C and enormous spa tub was put to good use and afterwards we wrapped ourselves in the complimentary waffle cotton robes and overlooking the very pretty street we enjoyed another glass of wine on the balcony (the first excellent wine having been complimented downstairs in the dining room with a light cheese platter at happy hour). Close to eat street ie Beaumont St Hamilton, the railway station and busses to Newcastle. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely B&B a short drive from the centre of Newcastle ($12 Uber drive). Hosts are very friendly and even provide a free drink on Saturday nights. Off street parking was easy. Not a lot of choice for breakfast but what was available was very good. We stayed in the king room with a spa and it was very well appointed. It was easily the cleanest place that we had stayed in. Would definitely return to the Chaucer Palms Boutique Bff ed & Breakfast

Room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Very friendly hosts. Very secure premises.|Located close to Newcastle in a quiet area. Street parking available close by and also a garage when available.|Not far from the Newcastle showground.|We would definitely stay there again.

A beautifully appointed, clean and modern facility, convenient to the nearby shopping and dining strip while being placed in a quiet location.

Staff were extremely helpful.

A little confusing getting to your room as there isn't a reception, but the staff will contact you prior with instructions.

Was there for business, so had a great room to unwind in when finished.

I have stayed at Chaucer Palms a number of times now, for work purposes. I find that I can keep working when I need to, either in my room or with my team in the dining room and relax and feel comfortable when work is over. Wonderful hosts, with wine and cheese in the afternoon and lovely choice of breakfasts in the morning.||||Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you for having me again.
