Ordered the salad and received a bowl of cut up cabbage, no pine nuts or dressing as per the menu. I added grilled chicken which was extremely dry and had to pay an extra $14.
My partner got a schnitzel but it was half the size of a normal pub schnitzel.This is the second time we have been disappointed here. I thought the sign said it was under new management. We won’t be back!!!!

Very disappointed. Sure we did go on a Monday night and it wasn't busy, therefore only 2 staffing . One young man at the bar and another cooking in the back.
It wasn't busy. I get it.
We finally ordered our food. We all ordered the 220 mb2 steak. All to the requested cooking taste. Some medium, some more rare. Most came we'll done and tough to eat
The mushroom sauce was a watery ,milky grey no mushroom . Chips were cold
We were only 5 people. I would not recommend it to anyone .

We enjoyed a very nice meal and service was exceptional. We had a previous experience which didn’t meet expectations and am pleased to say that given an opportunity to revisit with different circumstances we were more than happy with the experience. We had a very enjoyable night.

Have not been here for a while. Service is very lacking.. especially personalty or professionalism. Slightly modern decor however could be well placed in bankstown. Not a Balmain destination. Many other Balmain venues offer substantially better offerings.. lots of improvement to be made ...

Staff, especially Joel, were so welcoming as we were visiting from UK to see our son. The food is very good with a varied selection the same with the beer! Highly recommend a visit.

The cat and fiddle hotel is quite ambient. There’s a few stairs to navigate but otherwise the food and Service were fairly good and at a reasonable price. The staff were hospitable and friendly.

Use to be a great pub, now i'm met with overpriced food for little or inconsistent portions. Great location, menu items are good (apart from the above issues), each room in the building is different creating a weird vibe. Draws in a nice and friendly crowd, workers/bartenders are very respectful and good at their job. When compared to other pubs in balmain/rozelle or local inner-west suburbs, there is no reason to come here unless it’s within 200m walking difference. Overall, the main issue revolves around the cost of drinks and food - overpriced in regards of quality, consistency - especially when compared to neighbouring pubs within the area.

An absolute institution of Balmain and dog friendly. Average priced beer for that part of the world. Didn't have any food but it looked and smelled great when they were bringing it out to different tables
