Casuarina Lodge Patient's Accommodation - Westmead, New South Wales

My daughter and I recently stayed at Casaurina Lodge while I had medical treatment carried out at Westmead hospital. The lodge is within walking distance to the hospital. It is safe and secure. We had a swipe card to enter the premises. Each room fitted out with a tv, bar fridge, split system beds, a drawer, shelves and cupboard. A shared kitchenette was available to use when required. We had our own locking cupboard to store our own food items. You could relax in the dinning area while eating or sit outside in the fresh air while admiring the garden. A washing machine and dryer was available for use free of charge. While the toilets and showers were shared by other customers, it was always respectful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Each day the cleaner would arrange fresh cut flowers in vases. I personally found this a lovely touch .Casaurina Lodge is an excellent resource for country people. A home away from home.

Im an outpatient. The location is very convenient it's a great service especially for people coming from rural areas to get treatment. Rooms are very clean, fresh linen, and a kitchenette to cook meals. Highly recommended.

Stayed here whilst having two lots of eye surgery and the staff were most helpful, kind and welcoming. The rooms are a great size especially during covid times when I had to bunker down and not go anywhere - so the additional space helped a lot with preventing cabin fever! The room was well presented, tidy and clean.

It is hard enough to have to been going through the emotional and physical side of things when staying at the Lodge. From the cleaner to management thankyou. It is a peaceful space after a long day in the hospital. We met amazing people and overall it was like he away from home. Clean and common area very spacious and private beds.. price so affordable and helps during long stays.. thank you

I have been visiting Westmead Hospital since March 2022 as my son meets with specialists.

My son has epilepsy, dystonia, and global developmental delays.

Each visit, I ensure that I pre-book a room for my son's next appointment.

Casuarina Lodge is in a great location in context with being walking distant to the hospital and relevant specialist rooms.

The lodge is available for family and friends of patients at The Westmead Health Precinct. Basic bedrooms with shared facilities. While it needs a some TLC, it is very affordable, and easy walking distance to many of the hospitals and clinics.

I arrived at westmead at night after a 7 hour drive and was so grateful to be able to stay at the lodge. My husband had been transferred by air ambulance for specialist surgery.The room was basic but adequate. I collected the keys inside the hospital and met the manager the next morning. She was friendly and helpful. There was no ongoing accommodation available for me but I would recommend the lodge to any country person needing to attend westmead.

Casuarina Lodge is situated in the grounds of Westmead Hospital and provides short term accommodation for patients generally living 100kms from Sydney attending Westmead Hospital and their families. The cost is subsidized and a great help. ||||Bathrooms are shared and designed to facilitate guests in wheelchairs. There are extra basins, full laundry facilities and dryers. The kitchenettes contain a toaster, kettle and electric frying pan. There are no stoves but they have microwaves and a barbecue. Each room has a lockable cupboard in the kitchen.
