Couldn’t recommend this day spa more. Kick started my partner’s birthday here and it was very relaxing and our skin felt soothed and supple. Everyone adhered to the “no communication” policy which made the experience 10x better. A friendly reminder to be mindful of your session time and that it is a little smaller compared to other day spas. It’s mainly about being considerate of others if it gets too crowded - Most rituals are to be spent 10-15 minutes, so rotation shouldn’t be an issue. There’s a clock beside the mineral bath to keep note of the time. Also, there’s different time sessions via the website to keep the crowd control going, which is great - Compared to the bathhouse in Bondi, this booking system was a lot more seamless and user-friendly. The place is very clean and staff is friendly and welcoming. They have a beauty table with amenities provided pre and post spa. It was very hospitable and we can’t wait to book our next visit here.

I took my husband here to celebrate his birthday and it was the most wonderful experience. The staff were very welcoming and helpful as it was our first time visiting. The atmosphere was so relaxing and clean. We booked the 2:15 pm session on a weekday so it wasn't busy, everyone was very respectful to each other. We felt rejuvenated after we left and it was money well spent. I cannot wait to go back for my birthday 😋

Capybara Bathhouse is an absolute oasis in the heart of Surry Hills! The space is beautifully designed, with a warm magnesium bath, cold plunge, steam room, and sauna that make for the perfect relaxation experience. Everything is thoughtfully curated, from the calming ambiance to the high-quality facilities. Whether you’re looking to unwind, recharge, or just escape the city for a while, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

I recently visited Capybara and want to give them a five-star review. The atmosphere was exceptional—relaxed, inviting, and full of thoughtful design elements that enhanced the entire experience. The cleanliness was impressive, creating a comfortable environment.
Capybara sauna offered a perfect space for relaxation. I wasn't the only one who noticed the quality; as I observed, other customers entering the sauna often expressed their amazement. It was clear that this place left a strong, positive impression on everyone who visited.
Coming from an Asian background where elaborate bathing facilities are common, I was reminded of the luxurious bathhouses in my hometown. These are grand multi-story buildings that combine saunas, baths, scrubbing services, massages, cinema and restaurants/ buffet, kids cafe, floating, SPA all in one, and open 24*7 hour. For anyone passionate about bathing experiences, I highly recommend visiting China, especially the Northeast region. It’s an experience you won’t regret—truly a haven for those who appreciate a comprehensive, relaxing bathing culture.

I recently visited Capybara and had a truly relaxing experience. The space was clean, serene, and beautifully designed. The warm, mineral-rich bath offered a calming atmosphere, and the variety of steam, sauna and ice meant you could find the perfect mix of experiences to unwind. The shared spaces were thoughtfully designed, and the staff were friendly, ensuring a smooth visit. The refreshing barley tea was also a nice touch. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and reset, and I left feeling completely rejuvenated. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for some peace and relaxation!

Vibe was great, wonderful facilities, perfectly clean and amazing vibe. Lara was so lovely, kind and welcoming. The other woman was super rude and just horrible, no reason we could determine, it totally ruined the experience on the way out.

Edit: Owner called me to find out what happened, we’re all a bit mystified. She was lovely smoothed it all over. 10/10 would recommend going to capybara. Thank you.

It must have been fate because we just happened to walk past the area, and the adorable capybaras by the window caught our attention, so decided to give this a go. Absolutely amazing experience, from the friendly welcome, to the relaxing spa. We left feeling refreshed and extremely well looked.
