Good basic accommodation. |Not flash but room was very clean. |Quiet - minimum road noise. |Some rooms face the pool, some face the green belt. | Spacious room - built early 2000 - before everything was shrunk.|Needs some work on the gardens - that look a little tired- and a bit of replanting to freshen the place up a bit. Has major road works next door at the moment so when that is completed it will improve the entrance.

What a delightful place to stay. Gary , his family and staff, work hard to ensure a comfortable rest. We loved our unit with its outlook onto the pool and the garden. It was of a good size and had all that we needed for a comfortable stay. As travellers on a 6 week drive, we really appreciated the on site bistro with its tasty choices as well as the provisions for a light breakfast. A great place to stay.

My partner and I stayed for a night travelling back from Brisbane. The motel accommodated for late checkin and early departure. Everything was very easy and simple. Our room was very clean and tidy. First accommodation I have come across that has a shaving cream dispenser in the bathroom. The complex layout is simple and well throughout. Easy access from the main road. All rooms have a small smoking patio outside. Highly recommend! We will be staying again in the future.

Did not have a prior booking but had no problems for a overnight stay - Gary was very pleasant and helpful, and per many other reviews I found things quiet and well-maintained; the room was very clean, spacious and had everything needed. Depending on your direction of travel & preferences, the location on the highway & northern side of town means you're either well-placed to continue north, or stop after a long days' drive if heading south, before you hit all the town traffic .||While I did not need the restaurant or bar, I would certainly look to try it out the next time I stay. Is a place I would definitely return to! Thank you

Good location if you're heading north. There are plenty of food options only a short drive. They have a bistro on site that is open for a short time in the evening. It didn't work in with my schedule, but the menu looked good.
The room was very clean and looked out over the pool area.
The bed was firm and comfortable.
There was some noise from the highway, but not enough to wake me up. I could hear the neighbouring room quite clearly at times. I got woken up in the morning by cars leaving.
The man at reception was very friendly and welcoming.
The shower was good with constant hot water.

We have been travelling from Townsville on a regular basis for many years now and the Capricorn Motel has always been our go to for our stop over. |Gary the manager is always very welcoming and friendly. |The rooms are always very clean and provide many little extra above the normal. |The last few years we have travelled with our 2 small dogs and they provide a few special rooms at the back of the motel to allow for our dogs. |Congratulations from us Gary, you and your family have done a great job |Many thanks from Noel & Mary-Ann McIntyre

If I could give 0 stars I would! The worst place we have ever stayed at.

Room: loud music at night, tv streaming services would not work (we were going to sign in our own account but the tv wouldn't let the apps work)
Bring your own linen, single sheet provided only! No bed cover like a dooner or quilt. After hours did not answer nor return a call.
There is a suspicious stain in the bathroom near a plug that looks like dried blood!
The curtains don't fit the windows. One PowerPoint near TV so don't bring anything that needs plugging in near TV like your own streaming service.

Food: I use this term very very loosly. Thai green chicken breast curry served with lime and chilli and rice. No lime, lemon used even though when questioned they produced lime, ran out of chilli. The chicken was not breast but thigh. The sauce was runny with no flavour at all, like they used water and store bought paste, no coconut, kafir lime or lemon grass flavour at all! Rice served on the side topped with cucumber! Vegies were a couple of broccoli pieces, sliced broccoli stem and a couple pieces of zucchini, no bamboo shoots, carrots or water chestnuts (things normally found in thai curries), they did top it with alfalfa sprouts for some reason? Inedible, as was the other dish chicken carbonara, pasta was hard and well undercooked, dry, no creaminess to it or flavour. Did not eat it, very very overpriced.
