This is the best country swimming Aquatic Centre that I have ever been to.

Pools: Capella has an Olympic-sized swimming pool with disabled ramps for access (something that most other pools including the capital city pools that I have been to don't have ) for everyone of all ages and abilities to be able to access. There is a pool for small children with sails over it, a pool with a slide that is fenced from the other pools and it also happens to be fun.

Playground: There is a small to medium-sized area that has been redone into a playground area for children and it is colourful, well-shaded and close to the seating area.

BBQ: Capella Aquatic Centre has several BBQ facilities for use in the Centre. They are in good locations so that you can cook but still see the pools and the BBQs are out of the way of the pools. Pack your meat and salads, plates etc and cook your lunch, you can have a good day there.

Tables: There are tables and chairs located around but most tables are towards the front of the entrance inside the Centre.

Toilets: There are both male and female facilities in the Aquatic Centre. These facilities are disabled-friendly and have showers, change rooms, hand basins, seating, and hooks to hang your towels and clothes while you are getting changed.
They are kept clean and yes they have soap dispensers for your hands. If something is a miss, let the staff know because they are probably busy.

Gym: There is a small gym there & I think squash court, just ask when you go in.

Food and drink: The canteen sells a range of food and drink. The milkshakes are really good and the grilled chicken wraps are the best that I have ever had that I have paid for. The Aquatic Centre will even cater for your lunch, business meeting, birthday party or whatever your event might be, give them a call and ask.

Swimwear etc: So you need a new swimsuit or as we know it in Australia, yoga. Well go and see them at reception/canteen and they can help you with your toys, hire children swim vests, need a swim nappy (diaper American ) they have them, goggles, swimming cap, bag and so much more.

Membership: You can get a membership or season pass and they have family, single, and pensioner memberships and I am sure there are others so just ask.

Carnivals: Do you want to have a swimming Carnival? Well Capella is a great place to do that with the Olympic size pool. They have spectator stands and need a PA system that can be organised.

Safety:
There are lifeguards but the parents, it is your responsibility to watch your own children and keep them in line (behave) also read the signs when you come in and adhere to them. Everyone wants to be safe.

Price: Last time I went and paid for the individual entry it was $3:50 - $7 from what I remember. I know a concession membership/season pass for 2023/2024 is $70. Give them a call to check the cost but seriously it is a good inexpensive, relaxing or energetic day out.

Staff: Honestly the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I have never come across swimming pool staff this nice in a very long time.

Opening hours: Check the hours but I think they are 6 am - 7 pm Monday - Friday. Saturday and Sunday close at 6 pm (check opening times)

Cleanliness: YES the Aquatic Centre is very clean. Alright so everyone has times when things happen so if something has not been cleaned, let the staff know before you complain about it because they get busy and might be saving your child's life.

Overall I can honestly say that considering the population of the town, the Capella Aquatic Centre beats any Captial City facility hands down with everything taken into consideration. It certainly beats Melbourne!

Thanks for reading, if you like this give it a thumbs ? and I will know that I am doing something right.

A true oasis in an otherwise unpleasantly hot place.
Not just an Olympic pool, but small wading pools and a water play area complete with a waterslide.
Immaculately clean with manicured gardens and great children's play equipment.

One wonders why this isn't a home away from home for pretty much everyone in the town ?
