I stayed at this hotel for one night with my brother who lives in Sydney. I have traveled to many cities but I can honestly say that it was something else. A unique and special experience.|Location: unique , the intersection of the forest and the ocean |Room: calm, clean and neat- bathroom was ok|Breakfast: fresh and delicious ||Highly recommended

Stayed a night at Cape Tribulation Beach House, we were supposed to stay 2 nights but cut our losses and left a day early. It is a lovely location but unfortunately didn't live up to our expectations.

The positives:
The cabin / room is in the middle of a rain forest and is a short walking distance to the beach.
We had wild pigs around in the evening which we could watch from our porch.
The Italian girl working in the restaurant was very efficient and pleasant.

Not so positives:
The cabin / room is essentially a portacabin. The online photos make it look better than in real life. It was very clean though, but basic.
The bed linen was really damp which wasn't particularly nice.
The food in the restaurant wasn't great. I had the chef's special, a chicken curry bowl - having sailed halfway around the world in the last 10 months, i have eaten some dodgy food (some even cooked by me), but this was definitely the strangest thing i have tasted during this time. Being able to see into the kitchen is probably a good thing if you are watching a top class chef / cook, but not anywhere else.
My wife had the granola for breakfast, it was a pretty huge portion of food but certainly couldn't be called granola.

Stayed here with my wife and our 7 year old for one night. Nice location by the beach and the forrest, which was the appealing factor for us to book here. Service, food and drink were average. The room was below average; basic with aged facilities. Not much to do there. We stayed there to avoid travelling back in the night time. In hindsight I would probably explore other accommodation options around Turtle Rock Cafe. This place has a lot of potential. Ok for a one night stay.

Staff were great. Place kept clean. Family room great with big shower. Dinning on premises available. No cooking facilities in rooms so would be great if BBQs were available. Great location on beach and to activities

Our recent stay at the Cape Trip Beach House was truly amazing! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the location was suburb - right on the beach and surrounded by beautiful wildlife. We had accidentally gotten our dates mixed up (completely our fault), but the lovely night manager quickly helped book us in for the additional night and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible - would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We stopped for lunch only. The staff were helpful and the food was delicious. Lovely peaceful atmosphere. Right on the beach. Lovely slot to stop. We will be back again one day to stay in the cabins as they look delightful. Highly recommend stopping for lunch

Would not dine here ever again. The food is mediocre at best AND extremely overpriced. $90 for a pasta, fish and chips plus one pre packaged lemon, lime and bitters. I know the dinner options are limited in Cape Tribulation but I would not dine here again, nor would I recommend it.

We have been staying at Cape Trib Beach House many times and each time I'm mesmerized anew by the peaceful location, the sunrises on the beach, the licuala palms, and the magic of the rainforest. The king bed in the Mackay cabin is comfortable, the room very clean. We enjoyed the convenience of the restaurant and the food was fine.
