We went there to watch Canberra Royal show. Vibe was pretty good but somewhere it was bit chaotic with no clear guidelines on which path to follow etc. we were there with a baby in pram and it was hard work to reach few areas.
Facilities were great, toilets were clean. We went to one area where all those plant (prizes) were displayed, that area was very nice with cooling.

We paid $35 per night for a powered site for two people. That is $10 more per night than your average Showgrounds stay. The place is very average for a Showground. The sites are grassed and there are a few trees. The amenities are OK but not very clean. There is BBQ area but no kitchen. There is a washing up sink. It is pet friendly too.

Very quiet on the first afternoon. Cow and bull judging was interesting and well organised. The carnival rides looked to be very clean and sparkly - not worn and dated. The flowers, crafts, artwork, quilts, pottery, cakes, etc. were of high quality but numbers of entries appeared much lower than pre-Covid. Equestrian competitors were similar to pre-Covid numbers in my assessment and horses and riders were very well presented.

Had a wonderful time with my son. Historically Summernats have a bad rap with the Canberra community for valid reasons at the time. Today I saw on evidence of those issues and simply had a great time with my some enjoying cars of all types.

Came down here for the national alpaca show, fun day. Big area with multiple rooms. Easy to access with parking available (free) and the light rail nearby. Some food options in the cafe - quite limited and not many vegetarian options. The usual quick and dirty foods like chips and toasties, but has coffee with lots of milk options (hooray).
