The atmosphere is welcoming, with a good mix of locals and visitors. The food and drinks were solid, and the service was friendly and attentive. It’s a great spot to unwind with a cold one, and the outdoor area is perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates.

The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get a bit busy at times, but that’s to be expected at such a popular spot. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth checking out!

Stayed for three nights. Room was comfortable with a comfortable double bed, tv, fridge ac/heater with study desk and free wifi. Floor was carpeted, and the sound proofing was enough to ensure a good nights sleep.

Toilet and shower have modern fittings and are were cleaned regularly.

However if you are on a business trip and are on a scheduled timetable, bear in mind the rooms are not en-suite, and the shower and toilet facilities are shared. These can be occupied at times, and waiting will have to be taken into account when wanting to shower or to use the toilet.

Gosh where do I start.. first off the bat, as my family and I walked through the doors of Campsie Hotel we were engulfed by a strong stench of cigarette smell. Then we had a look at the menus to see the smallest variety of mediocre food. We have been coming here for years and the menus have been quite large. We proceeded to order schnitzel and steak which tasted STRONGLY of chemicals. The chicken was also pink and chewy. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone gets salmonella, this place is a law suit waiting to happen.

Oh dear!! Steer clear!! Booked a room in there. Went to check in at the pub about 9pm ish and we were engulfed with cigarettes and smoke, every which way we turned every man had a cigarette in their hand, I haven’t experienced anything like it since I was 17yrs old and sneaking in to clubs when I shouldn’t have been. My daughter is asthmatic and quickly exited whilst I tried to quickly check in, but the place just felt “ shady and not safe for me and my family. We forfeited the room cost and took it on the chin, perhaps we’re just made of softer stuff these days but I’m still glad we didn’t stay there and thankful that we had that option.

The place is good and the front desk lady is very attentive to customers, I'm placing two stars for the food, was nothing special and precisally the pork ribs were tasting of strong chemical which resulted almost inedible. Please take this review in mind for continuous improvements. As I like this hotel, I'll back for dinner one day and I hope to change this review.

A Nightmare Experience – Avoid This Campsite Hotel at All Costs!

I am absolutely appalled by the complete lack of hygiene and customer service at this so-called "hotel." We paid a staggering AUD 1008 for four nights (AUD 252 per night) from December 28 to January 1, and what we encountered was nothing short of a nightmare.

We arrived late, around 11 PM, and were greeted at the check-in area located within a smoky bar/casino. The first impression was already off-putting, but nothing could prepare us for what awaited us in our room.

Upon entering, we were hit with an overwhelming and nauseating stench of air freshener attempting to mask the underlying filth. The room was disgusting, with visible stains on both the floor mat and curtains. It was so dark that we could barely see the grimy surfaces, but that didn’t stop a cockroach from scuttling out from under the bed and straight onto our white bed sheets!

These conditions made it clear that proper cleaning protocols had not been followed. This is utterly unacceptable.

We immediately called the hotel staff for assistance, hoping to switch rooms or at least receive some bug spray. The first staff member who arrived claimed he was not pest control and offered no solutions whatsoever. Frustrated, we asked for a refund, and that’s when things got even worse.

He returned and informed us that there were only two options: a full refund if we left immediately (which would take two weeks to process), or we could stay in the disgusting room without any refund. This was unacceptable!

As we frantically searched for another hotel, a senior staff member arrived, insisting that we had booked the cheapest non-refundable room. He needed to check with his boss about the possibility of a refund, which only added to our frustration.

While waiting for his confirmation, we discovered another key card sitting on a chair in our filthy room. This raised serious concerns about the hotel’s security, cleaning protocols, and the possibility that other guests may have had access to our room. If they had truly performed any cleaning, how could they have overlooked a key card left behind by a previous guest?

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the senior staff member returned to confirm that we would indeed receive a full refund and requested the key cards back. No explanations were given about the extra key card, and we were hastily asked to leave around midnight.

This entire experience raises a multitude of questions: Does this hotel even conduct pest control? What about their cleaning services? How is it possible for unreturned key cards to be left in rooms, posing security risks for guests?

I strongly advise anyone considering staying at this establishment to think twice. The level of unprofessionalism, combined with the appalling hygiene, made for a truly horrendous stay. Save your money and find a place that values cleanliness and customer satisfaction. This hotel is NOT it!
