What a lovely motel. Before we could even get off the motorbike, we were greeted with a friendly smile. Our host showed us which room we were in then recommended where to park the bike safely on a level surface and undercover, saying we could still see the bike from our room. That was hugely appreciated!
She (I’m sorry I never asked her name) recommended where to have dinner (the local pub which was excellent) and breakfast.
The room was extremely comfortable, with a decent sized fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Everything was exceptionally clean and the shower was brilliant.
With motels, especially in more rural locations, you are never sure what you will get. But we would stay at the Calais again with pleasure! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Convenient, clean, comfortable and very friendly motel. 6 of us came up for a family event and stayed in the two larger rooms. Very comfortable nights and we were pleased to have an electric blanket as the second night was frosty. Since taking over this motel in 2022 the owners have done a great job in sprucing it up. The rooms are quite small but perfectly adequate for a stay whilst exploring the area. Outside tables and chairs are a lovely place to enjoy a cuppa. All our dealings with the owners/managers were helpful and friendly. The motel has just 12 rooms making it a very friendly place to stay. Highly recommend.

Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Rebecca gave us advice on where we could eat. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and suited our needs. Pod coffee was a pleasant surprize. A great shower with plenty of hot water. Would happily stay again.

I stayed on a driving trip this winter for one night and truly enjoyed my stay: it was very quiet, access to car was good, reception gave me a sheet for my windscreen to stave off frost. The motel is in easy walking distance to the main services. The room was clean and though not spacious, had enough room. All amenities were in good working order and easy to use incl the TV, heater and electric blankets. I slept well after a hot shower - what more can one ask?

We stayed at the Calais last minute and they were very accommodating and helpful. We had the last room available which was only intended for a single person but it was fine for a couple. Just a double bed, but it had an electric blanket and was comfortable. Shame about the pillows, they need replacing. Crockery and cutlery was provided along with a microwave which was great as we brought our own breakfast. Overall it was a comfortable stay and suited us for an overnight stay.

We always stay at Coolah as our half way stop, As alway we are great with a big smile and Rebecca always remembers who we are, it is a lovely motel clean tidy and friendly. Made to feel like really welcome. It is with in walking distance to the pub or club and IGA very convenient.
