We had a great stay at Cairns Plaza Hotel! Our sea-view suite was streamlined and comfortable, featuring a balcony, free Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV. The kitchenette included a microwave and kettle for tea and coffee but lacked a toaster and ice maker—though ice was available upon request at the front desk.||The location is fantastic—just steps from the Promenade, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Parking is complimentary, and there’s a nice outdoor pool.||The A/C was ice cold, and the shower had plenty of hot water—both things we no longer take for granted! The 24-hour front desk staff were always helpful, and umbrellas were readily available, which was a lifesaver during the rainy season.||The only downside was that the restaurant was closed during our visit, so no breakfast was available. Otherwise, a great stay—we’d definitely return!||

We had an EXCELLENT experience staying at the Cairns Plaza, especially the friendly and helpful welcome upon check in (young women, brown hair, very hospitable). All amenities were great, including the hotel pool. We were just a stones throw from the lagoon and a short stroll to the town centre. The team even held our bags after check out and allowed us to use their pool and changing rooms. Thank you.

The Cairns Plaza hotel has an excellent location overlooking the sea. It is walking distance from the Reef Fleet Terminal at Cairns Marlin Marina from where one can take the cruise for the Great Barrier Reef. It is also walking distance from the waterfront where a large number of restaurants are located. An ideal location for travellers.|The staff at the hotel are highly efficient, courteous and ever smiling.|The hotel also has a small swimming pool.

Booked the hotel thinking it would be nice for almost 300 for 1 night but upon arriving to the room it definitely wasn't worth 300 a night plus 100 securitydeposit, the description said Mountain view but looking out the window to the balcony all u see if the hotel next to u. Tried cooling off with a swim but the pool water felt more like bath water, plus purchased the room mainly so I could have a smoke without leaving the room only to find out u cannot smoke on the property at all. Wasn't sure in the fridge in the room actually worked, ac didn't feel very cool even tho I had it on 16 degrees as soon as I arrived. Fair walk from the city, all in all I did not have a good experience with

The location of the hotel is very good. It is located on the Esplanade, where many restaurants and shops are operating there.
The room is clean and with a reasonable space for 2 people. The tiles in the toilet and bathroom are not so clean. I think it may be a little bit common for aged hotels. The bedroom is very clean.

Good location and staff were welcoming.
Clean rooms and adequate space for two.
Lovely toiletries.
Good shower pressure but the floor got quite wet with the half screen.
Didn’t use the pool as it was very hot and there was no shade.
Breakfast at Muddy’s was yummy and you get a 10% discount as a hotel guest.

This is obviously not a luxury hotel stay; my husband and I opted for a mid-range hotel as we would be out and about for the majority of our time in Cairns. However, this was a comfortable, spacious, centrally located hotel with free parking and quiet enough that we were well rested for our adventures in the Frankland Islands and Kuranda the following days. Location was also excellent - right on the esplanade, so it had gorgeous sunrise views and was perfect for morning and evening strolls. This hotel also has the added benefit of giving a small discount at and being close to Muddys-- best breakfasts and coffees!! Thanks to Adrian at the front desk for the warm welcome and recommendations for what to do in Cairns!

Streamlined room with a balcony, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TV; we had a sea view Suite with a kitchenette and separate living area. Kitchenette had a microwave and kettle for tea and coffee making but was missing a toaster & ice maker, but you could get a bucket of ice if you asked at the front desk.
Parking is complimentary. There's an outdoor pool, you are steps away from the Promenade and a wide variety of restaurants and shops.
A/C was ice cold and the shower had hot water, two things we no longer take for granted. Someone was at the front desk 24 hours a day to answer any question you had, and umbrellas were always available - it was the rainy season.
The restaurant was closed while we visited.
