Is this the greatest golf course in the world? No. But it doesn’t try to be.

It’s a very fun and affordable golf course with an awesome staff. There is a driving range to warm up and the other players that I encountered were all positive experiences.

They were completely re-doing number 10 when I was there, so they had a temporary routing on the back nine - no worries there.

I also saw some kangaroos out there which also was enjoyable.

The courses and equipment were very good but the employee that greeted myself and 2 friends was horrible, the employee by the name of Kane came out to us on our second shot of the first course and told us that "we were too slow and no good for the course," after we explained we were beginners and trying our best while having fun, he remarked that "cairns golf club isn't for beginners and that the driving range was better for us." We hadn't done anything we followed the rules and were just trying to enjoy our first experience at golf and he came out and harassed us, granted we aren't the quickest and aren't able to play the best shots but we were trying, we had paid in full and had every right to play the course and he made us feel unwelcome. That employee really came off quite hostile and put a really sour taste in my mouth for the club and for golf, I really hope the management sees this and talks to him because if he is doing this to others then he's making new comers like myself feel not welcome on a public course and I hope I don't have the displeasure of interacting with that employee ever again.

Fantastic course with interesting layout. Good variety of holes with some shorter holes which require placement off the tee plus some challenging longer holes where you need driver. A couple of standout par 3s, one almost 200m in length and one around 150 metres which is all carry over a lake! Greens are very firm and fast so with the undulations you have to think about most putts. Good value golf at $55 each including a cart if there are two playing together. You can also walk the course. There is a large driving range here too which is an all weather facility

I'm visiting from Sydney and wanted to enjoy a game of golf. This was close to where I was staying. I booked a cart and hired clubs when I got there. I was in shock when I had to buy balls and tees, separetly as the hired bag didn't include them. In total I payed $161 for two players, cart, clubs and balls. For future players, don't use a yellow ball on the first tee as the driving range balls litter the hole. Furthermore the greens were not to standard for the price point. Otherwise the coarse offers plenty of challenges and bugs

The course is honestly pretty nice. Reasonably well maintained. However, the staff member that served us was terrible, I think his name is Kane. After we started playing, he drove out to tell us that we shouldn't be playing golf at this course. We have all played before and weren't doing terrible, but more importantly, we weren't holding anyone up. I don't appreciate staff coming out and harrasing us, telling us that we "shouldn't be playing golf in cairns".

Upon starting my first hole and 2 shots in within 5mins , a staff member named Kane approached us and told us we were too slow and that learning golf in cairns is not for us insinuating that we shouldn’t learn to play golf in cairns. Rude and uninviting are just the tip of the iceberg when describing “Kane” I’m sure other staff are no where near this rude and unhelpful but that being said if you are new to golf and want to learn in ur hometown… then it’s not for u according to “Kane”
