We recently spent a week at the resort, arriving a day later than planned due to a highway closure caused by flooding. The location has a peaceful vibe, with stunning beach views from our balcony, which we truly enjoyed.

Upon arrival, we noticed the floors were sandy, and the blankets were not clean. After raising these concerns with reception, they promptly addressed the issues—cleaning the floors, providing brand-new blankets, and even leaving a thoughtful small gift with a card, which was a lovely touch.

Our room featured vinyl floorboards instead of carpet, which felt clean and modern. The family pool was a highlight; it was almost like having a private pool all to ourselves, and the saltwater made for an enjoyable swim.

The only suggestion for improvement would be upgrading the beds, as they were quite noisy and squeaky. However, considering the price point, the overall quality met our expectations, and we had a pleasant stay.

Great vibe here, spacious rooms and a good sized pool with cool jungly gardens around it! Close to the beach, just a short walk away. The balconies are also spacious and great spots to chill after activity-packed days. Sofas are comfy, decent kitchen with medium size fridge and freezer, plus plenty of cupboard space. Bathroom is fine, bit old. Shower pressure is a bit weak but hot water if you want it and a bath. It's an old building, but still good value.

Parking is free and easy access with no gates and 24 hour entry. There's underground parking too, which is important on the really hot, sunny days.

A few unexpected annoyances that are a result of no daily room cleaning service...

Toilet paper and bins: once you run out, they won't replace these, so you have to buy your own. Not the end of the world but, given the price, I'm disappointed with this policy.

The linen rule: they won't change it unless you're staying more than 7 days. You can get fresh linen within that time but they'll charge you extra. They do provide your own washing machine and dryer though, so not too big of an issue. Still, a bit inconvenient.

Dishes: they tell you to clean the dishes provided after use, which is totally fine, but the problem with this is they don't seem to check them when someone checks out - most of the plates and cutlery were dirty when we got here, so we had to wash them before use.

Bed: two single beds/mattresses pushed together with a queen sheet over the top shouldn't be advertised as anything other than a twin single room, in my opinion. It was also pretty uncomfortable with hard mattresses and the inevitable dip in the middle where the two singles meet. Cheap pillows and sheets exacerbated the discomfort.

Balcony: crack in a wall next to balcony was home to loads of flies. They congregated around the crack and didn't disturb us too much but bit gross.

Despite these annoyances that could easily be rectified with less stingy management, we had a great time here because of the spacious rooms, chilled vibes and pool area, and the location.

I couldn’t recommend Cairns Beach Resort more! It’s a great location, so close to the beach. The room was perfect and had a lovely view of the gardens which are just stunning. Ruby at reception was amazing and I really enjoyed my stay, can’t wait to come back!!!

Do not stay here. Our room had bugs and had clothes/underwear left by previous guests. Clearly the room wasn’t cleaned properly.
Our linen was meant to be replaced because we were staying over 7 nights but wasn’t.
There was a $200 ‘bond’ that was not mentioned at time of booking but only discussed at check in.
This place is not what it seems online.

Such a beautiful place to stay! The layout of the resort really made it feel like a holiday. The pool area was so relaxing and the water temp was perfect.

Lovely spot, clean apartments, wonderful service.
Holloway’s beach is in close proximity to the airport, city and more northern spots along the coast such as Palm cove which makes it an ideal location to explore tourist gems. I would definitely come back here again.

The reception and everyone were very nice. The resort is located right next to the beach and there is a restaurant close by. They had a pool there that seemed nice but we didn't go for a swim. The resort was also quite cheap. The only problem we had was the rooms. There were bugs, a couple stains on the carpet, loud noise that lasted for awhile afte flushing the toilet and it overall felt unsanitary.

The room also had a particular stench when walking in. I understand that it’s hard to stop bugs from coming in, there were even cockroach traps to try and prevent this but the roaches and trails of ants made us feel uncomfortable staying there. The room decor was okay, I liked the beachy vibe but the furniture felt a bit ’outdated’. I personally wouldn’t stay there again unless the rooms were cleaner. ❤️

Amazing service, beautiful spot, great experience with these people, very nice and friendly, very helpful, absolutely recommending them. Being ther for 9 days and loved it.
