We are new to staying here. A little crazy finding the car park entrance, but we figured it out. Even crazier finding our parking space. We assumed 008 tag on the fob & apartment key meant park in Unit 8. Then we looked and looked for the Wifi access. I shouldn't admit this, but the last place we looked was on the refrigerator door. We didn't have groceries, till the next day!! Doh!
I think this Unit 8 is amazing, beautifully decorated, comfy beds, two master suites!!! Rental stay is spot on. Secure property is key to the Aquarius, the fob controls entry, exit thru the car park, elevator. I loved the ceiling fans!!! A/C wall units in each room. The balcony overlooking the ocean and island, primo. An outdoor gym across the street. Sunrise and fox bats returning in the morning, amazing.
My only disappointment, exhaust vents are clogged with lent/dust, hanging lamps/bulbs are dusty over the island, the couch cushions need replacing, firmer cushions. There were pictures at the front door wall, but they were gone. I moved the laundry room pictures to the front room blank hooks. It looks nicer!! Couch is worn and fabric needs cleaning. Dining table on the balcony has mold developing under the thick clear plastic cover. Otherwise we were very happy!!! We stayed for a week, 2 families of 4. The location is brilliant , a short walk to pool on the esplanade, eating, boat trips. Yes the building is older but all good ,2 small pools, nice gardens. Carpark a bit squishy but manageable. We had 2 units on 12 th floor, stunning views. Well equipped with linen, kitchen ware, washing machine and dryer. Super clean on arrival, great air con, great balconies.||Highly recommended!!

Location is fantastic, close to restaurant and direct across from the esplanade walkways.|Views are great from the 12 floor. Easy self check in and out, easy access to secure carpark. Room needs some upgrades as it’s a little out dated and needs some maintenance work.|Kitchen has everything you need.|Showers were great

We stayed in Cairns for 7 nights on the last leg of our East Coast tour. We booked our two bedroom deluxe apartment through Booking.com. I am surprised this property gets a 4.5 whilst the location is great for the esplanade and restaurants/bars are on your doorstep it really does need some TLC. I think this property was nice in its day and pictures are probably quite old.||The building |Feels like a 1980 hotel when you walk into the lobby, dark wood and pattern marble flooring. The corridors are open brick and grey pattern carpet quite gloomy. Two small kidney shaped outdoor pools on front of building with two sun-beds at each pool. The Sauna is located near one pool and needs to be pre-timed at least 30 minutes before use to heat it.|The garden is well maintained and there is a tennis court at side of building.||Our apartment No.29, 4th Floor |The reason I am publishing the number is because it seemed to us that some are privately owned so experience could be different.|Our apartment was a huge two bedroom with big-folding doors and great views of esplanade. We had open plan kitchen/dinner and lounge. Unfortunately no “smart “ TV, one dinning chair broken and wicker chair which collapsed underneath me when I sat on it. Other furniture on balcony was fine. The main bedroom had on-suite but there was no door, and no privacy! The main bathroom was large with spa bath but did not seem to work & shower was over the bath. The laundry room had everything you needed , only complaint was ironing board required a new cover as you could feel metal when ironing clothes. Areas of apartment needed better cleaning and pillows on beds were cheap (this is a big thing for me), had neck ache. The curtains in both bedrooms had stains. We hired a car and each apartment has its own space in underground car park adjacent to property which was great.||Such a shame as I think with some attention the apartment could be great!!

LOVED!! We stayed in room 57 on the 9th floor for a week. We stayed with our 2 kids for our wedding/honey moon. This unit is fantastic. Clean, modern, comfortable and homely. The bathrooms had recently been renovated so they looked different to the picture which was a nice surprise. Very well put together by the host. We even got an early check in and late check out. My only negative feedback was the internal locks were not lockable with a key which made us anxious with 2 kids and a high balcony. Other than that 10/10. Would highly recommend booking this unit. Thank you!!

Unit 64 cannot be faulted. This waterfront apartment has everything. Beautifully maintained and secure, it includes: a sun lit generous balcony; 2 large bedrooms; 2 bathrooms; a modern fully equipped kitchen; open plan lounge/dining; and laundry. Additionally there is access to parking, pool, spa and sauna. The location on the Esplanade is perfect, with the restaurant precinct a few short steps from the door. You will want to return on a regular basis once you have discovered this gem.

My girlfriends and I stayed in unit 42 on level 7 at the beginning of August 2024. The unit was spacious and well located. However, the unit , which we paid for a premium apartment, was very ordinary to say the least. It is need of a renovation. I have stayed at Aquarius before with family and the unit and view were fabulous. I felt a little embarrassed when we walked into this unit. Certainly not worth the extra money I paid for a premium unit. The view was hindered by a wall and neighbouring units.
The beds were very uncomfortable and need replacing immediately. The pillows were a disgrace. There was mould on ceilings, broken lights and cockroaches running over the kitchen bench. As there is no reception, we couldn’t ask for a different unit. The lady that was sitting downstairs wasn’t interested in our concerns. To top it off our key opened another unit door (by accident) but so much for security.
TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED.

Worst place I have ever stayed. The photos on booking.com were of new premises and upon arrival, the room was old and dated. There was a putrid stench from the kitchen which was of grease under the range hood and inside of the oven. Cochroaches were literally everywhere when we turned the lights on at night. They were that bad we were concerned they may make their way into our luggage. The complex care taker was dismissive and said the rooms are cleaned at a certain standard and vermin is more prevalent in the tropics. Weird because i travel in winter to cairns every year to see family and have never experienced this amount of vermin. It was hard to relax watching cochroaches crawling up the wall in the kirchen and bedrooms. He should be sacking the cleaner as we could hardly breath in the kitchen. The cochroaches were attracted to the thick layers of grease I imagine. For $400 a night I expected the accomodation to have an average cleanliness about it and definitely no cochroaches running up the walls, floors and roof. The shower was blocked and the on-site care taker said he would fix it but didn't hear back. This was 3 nights of he'll. The only good thing about the place is the location but I have stayed at nearly all the others on esplanade and close to yje lagoon and they are fine. If you want to ruin your holiday or stay in Cairns stay here you'll be guaranteed a poor stay.
