I sat outside waiting for my appointment. It's just peaceful sitting near the neonatal clinic especially when I can't eat before my procedure.
After the procedure I bought a sausage roll as my (mum 93) says they are the best in Ipswich. I rekon she is right.
It was delicious 😋

Where to start if you like eating rubber meat, Cafe on the Hilltop is for you,

Got the chicken parmy, paid full price for it ($14+) and I'm pretty sure it's been sitting here longer then the wait time at the ED (emergency department)

$50 for 2 meals, a pie and 3 drinks (one water)

What really upsets me is that it's part of the Hospital so majority of people coming to this Cafe are here seeing a loved one in Hospital, so you pop down for a quick bite to eat and you get robbed financially and the food is bloody horrible.

Highly recommended going elsewhere or bringing food from another establishment

I never complain about food. I'm a fatty. Do yourself a favour and steer clear

They wouldn't make anything up just had to have the old stuff in the window and all to overpriced bring back the old canteen people can't afford these ridiculous prices as we had to pay $8.00 for 1 sandwich which was horrible and pay $5.00 for a small apple juice this canteen/Cafe is a joke not everyone gets paid high wages like doctors and specialists bring back everyday food that people can afford

Very expensive, you pay for every add on. Example for breakfast you purchase scrambled eggs, you pay an additional $2.50 for small hash brown, $3 for one rasher of small middle bacon. Meal ends up being pricey! However, food is okay.

I attend the hospital four times a fortnight. Cafe on the Hilltop is a great place to get a healthy meal or snack in-between appointments. There's a huge range of freshly prepared hot & cold foods available. Clean & roomy eating areas both inside & outside. Service is always with a smile.

If it wasn't attached to a hospital, it would be better, but it does a great job feeding visitors to and from the Ipswich Hospital.
