I booked one of the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartments for the night before my wedding and the night of. My bridal party, mum and grandmother and I were getting ready at the hotel, so we required the space for us, along with our makeup artist, hair stylist and camera team for day use. I told this to the staff member when booking, asking which room would be best and that we would need a ground floor as the team has suitcases full of equipment and my grandmother is disabled and can’t walk up stairs. This wasn’t a problem, I booked and received an email saying that payment wouldn’t be required until closer to the date. A couple of weeks later I receive a rude phone call saying that if I don’t pay the full amount now (this was months prior to my booking date) that my booking would be cancelled. So obviously I paid the booking in full. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff member then wanted to take payment for my booking again. This ended up being resolved, but the communication wasn’t ideal. Then the staff member walked me to my room and said there were five flights of stairs and no lift. I said to him that I had booked a ground floor room and I was pretty much ignored. In the end my grandmother couldn’t get ready with us which was really upsetting. Also, carting suitcases of makeup and hair styling equipment up five flights of stairs wasn’t ideal. Along with me in my massive wedding dress having to go up and down.

To add to this, the walls in this place are paper thin. I could hear everything, including someone coughing throughout the night.

Not impressed and will not be staying here again.

Lovely place in a beautiful suburb with a short walk to beautiful shops and restaurants. Only gripes were I couldn't open the windows - the winders were broken and I couldn't turn the air conditioning off. The front staff were all very cheerful and friendly. I was offered a free 2 hour extension to check out which was really appreciated.

The location was very handy to galleries etc. and good dining was conveniently located. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were spacious and spotless. We enjoyed our time there and it was an easy walk to conveniently located ammenities, attractions and galleries.||The underground covered parking was a welcome bonus.

I love this place, I booked a two bedroom apartment, it is clean, the rooms are big. Reception is great, very friendly and helpful. It’s got all we need (kitchen, washing machine) as we travel with two kids. Booked two nights with around $800. Very good value for what I expected.

Recently stayed in Canberra and this was an excellent hotel choice. Was upgraded from my single room to a 2-person apartment and it was brilliant. Kitchen was excellent, as was the laundry and all the facilities (pod coffee machine, ironing board, kitchen utensils). Room sizes were fantastic, not pokey.

Finding the hotel was easy, upon arriving at reception, the gentleman showed amazing customer service. He was professional, polite, kind and very helpful. Which makes a very good first impression. We checked into our two bedroom apartment, despite no lifts to our apartment, the stairs were easy enough to climb to the top floor with a luggage. The apartment had everything we needed for a family stay (including cookware and utensils). The linen were fresh and clean. It was very spacious all round with a large balcony and seating. We were very comfortable and felt at home. When we checked out and left, later in the day we realised our son had left his watch behind. We called and reception and housekeeping found it quickly. Thank you the warm hospitality and made our stay in Canberra pleasant.

Amazing room was so spacious and had everything I needed. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I had a great stay here. Having the separate and roomy lounge was a godsend and the location was perfect for my needs.

Our short stay overnight was comfortable and relaxing. We did not have the opportunity to try any of the restaurants but will certainly do that on our next visit. Staff were welcoming and friendly - always a plus after a long day of travel. We will certainly stay at Burbury Hotel Canberra again. Parking was included which was a bonus.
