This is such a nice area to relax, have nice walks and bike on some new trails. The main lodge is in a great location. The rooms could use a good cleaning as is seems some areas are being missed, but overall nice. There aren't as many wallabies as there used to be. I hope they return.

We recently stayed at Whispering Pines in the Bunya Mountains, and while the house itself had some charming features, we were unfortunately let down by the lack of cleanliness and the dismissive response from the owner when we raised our concerns. The house’s balcony was a real highlight, offering beautiful views that allowed us to appreciate the natural beauty of the Bunya Mountains.

However, the cleanliness of the house left much to be desired. When we arrived, we found several areas that were visibly dirty, including hair in the shower, grease on the bedside tables, and floors that were exceptionally grimy. Despite mopping the floors ourselves, the water in the bucket came up black, indicating a level of dirtiness that we found unacceptable. Even after additional cleaning with wet wipes, the floors continued to come up dirty.

When we contacted the management with photos detailing these issues, we received a response that attributed the problem to an old mop head. Unfortunately, this response felt dismissive and did not address the overall cleanliness concerns we raised. Our final email seeking a resolution went unanswered, which was particularly disappointing.

We want to emphasise that this review is not a reflection of the Bunya Mountains themselves, which are stunning and well worth visiting. Whispering Pines has the potential to be a fantastic stay with its lovely design and scenic location, but the lack of cleanliness and dismissive customer service we experienced detracted from what could have been a much more enjoyable visit.

Beautiful place so peaceful and quiet.

We stayed at the Tuggen Tuggen & Mai houses which are very nice, each house sleeps up to about 21 people. One bedroom downstairs has a double bed and single bed, upstairs has two bedrooms each with double beds and 1 set of bunk beds the third room which is open area has all bunk beds.

All firewood is supplied for each of the houses and each have one toilet and shower in side and a separate section with toilets and shows.

If you stay in these you can play tennis for free however booking is encouraged, there is also a pool table and table tennis located down near the tennis court. In the same area is located the dryer and washing machines that people staying in the houses are welcomed to use.

Bunya Mountains is a stunning destination, but we feel the accommodation standards at Bunya Mountains Accommodation Centre have declined over the years. This was our fourth visit in the last seven years, and we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the past two houses that we stayed in. The amount of dust, particularly under beds and furniture, was concerning, and it seems like the houses haven’t had a thorough clean in a very long time. My husband sneezed constantly, and the spider webs and dust on the ceilings were hard to ignore. The shelving in the cupboards was filthy with crumbs, and the dishes were dirty - we had to clean everything before using it. When paying that amount of money to stay, it’s just not acceptable. We hope that more attention is given to maintaining the cleanliness of the properties, as it really impacts the overall experience in such a beautiful location.

Great little get away location if you need a few days to "disconnect" from the world. Plenty of wildlife and a good ~8km hike trail that takes you through plenty of scenic spots with waterfalls.

We stayed in the Ecos Studio (1 bed, 2 person lodge), it was perfect and cheap price as well. Would definitely come back again.

We stayed there for two nights it was nice place. Lots of native animals like wallabies and birds. You can hand feed them. Love the house and the fireplace. Phone reception is a bit of issue but since you are immersed in nature data is not an issue.

Had an amazing stay at Magic Heights. Birds, possums, and hundreds of wallabies on your lawn, balcony and front step. And many beautiful hikes in the National Park in the rainforest. We are already planning a return trip.
