Beautiful house. Spotless clean.
It has everything you might need. There is plenty of wood for the fireplace that will keep the house warm during cold weather. There are shops a short drive from the house. And lots of cute kangaroos on the road!

We stayed in the Redgum Cottage for our honeymoon in Dec 2020. We absolutely loved it there! It was private, quiet, and the views of the ocean over the canopies of a multitude of gumtrees was one of the best I've ever experienced.

Sure, the internal condition of the cottage was a little rustic, but we were very comfortable. We experienced good communication with our host, and enjoyed several wildlife sightings.

One of our favourite honeymoon stays, (out of 9 South Coast destinations all up).

Disappointing lack of maintenance & cleanliness.
A great location up in the treetops but the experience is spoiled by such things as a hole in the wall in the toilet, putrid smell in the pantry, broken handle on the dishwasher making it hard to open, deck littered with debris & no basic tea & coffee available.
No sign of the owner during our stay.

Not sure why some of the reviews aren’t great because this place is spectacular. Honestly a hidden gem in the most peaceful and beautiful location.

We’ve stayed here twice - in summer and in winter. Both times we’ve had to drive up at night, which if you can should be avoided as there is a LOT of kangaroos on the way (as expected for some cottages up on a hill surrounded by nature!)

The area is stunning - a view of the ocean, trees around, wildlife, etc. The deck area is gorgeous, with a little barbecue, and was the perfect area to wake up and have breakfast on. In winter it was a little colder so we didn’t spend a lot of time outside, but you can see the stars and there’s a lovely feeling of calm.

The fireplace is very cosy - they provide fire starters, some logs, and a little kindling (although if you just step outside there’s plenty on the ground!), although in winter it is the only form of heating which is expected for the location. There is fans for summer and being on stilts/hill it is still quite cool.

I absolutely loved the bath with the stunning views. Definitely adds to the relaxation and reset!

Only thing is that if you are very attached to your phone, if you aren’t with Telstra you may not have service/wifi. I think it adds to the focus on being in nature and being in the moment but I do understand wanting a little digital connection if this is a dealbreaker for you.

The owner also helped to accommodate us when there was an issue with a previous guest where we had booked, which we really appreciate.

Otherwise I truly think this is a very special place, and would love to stay here again.

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend getaway from Canberra. The place itself is in a great spot, everything you need and a great view. The owner was very nice and even had the wood fire started for us before we arrived so it was nice and warm. You are surrounded by nature but a short distance to the closest small town. We had a great time here. Perfect for couples who just want to sit by a wood fire with some good wine, good food and good company 😉 ||There is absolutely no reception (which was great for us, maybe not for others...)

This is where we spent many a night 20 years ago, and even our wedding night. Was nervous as to how the place had stood the test of time and it didn't really disappoint. The views are still amazing, the abundance of wildlife is prolific, sooo many kangaroos. The cottages could do with a little TLC and some appliances could do with updating. The cottage needed to have some extra attention paid to the cleanliness, especially the kitchen.||However its not about this so much as the experience of tranquillity amongst the gums and giant blue sky, and this did not disappoint.

This stay was a gift for my birthday and we enjoyed every moment. So quiet and the views are amazing. We stayed in the Eagles Nest studio cottage which was rustic and charming. I would love to come back in winter with the fire blazing and a glass of red in hand. As everyone has mentioned there is no phone coverage so you really do have to relax. We went for a drive to Batemans Bay for lunch on day and found it an easy trip to do. We cooked on the bbq both nights and had drinks and nibblies on the deck watching the fabulous view and enjoying the peace. The cottages are far enough apart that except for the cars parked outside you wouldn't even know there was anyone else there.

Comfortable cabin high amongst the trees with wood fire, wrap around deck with seating, windows on every aspect (even the toilet and bath) . Wallabies hop through the site, sunrise and sets are beautiful, no urban noise at all, fabulous hot water for a soak in the tub. ||Tips- bring DVD's as TV reception can be patchy, bring binoculars if you have them to scan the coast, bring cards or games if you enjoy that, bring bubble bath for the tub with a view, local IGA is well stocked, full size fridge so plenty of room for sunset drinks. Communication with host was excellent.
