I had a great stay at this solid 4 star hotel. It was clean and well equipped, with a great gym, spa and pool. The staff were very professional and take good care of guests and one the very few early 20th century hotels in the region. My only gripe was I had to tend to a few things on arrival which was a little annoying (e.g. there was no cutlery in the room, the coffee machine didn't work properly nor did the phone, the TV was not powered on and soap dispensers hadn't been refilled). While it's clear the carpets and decor could do with an upgrade and bathrooms can be quite basic, what was provided was more than adequate. I have no reservations recommending the Brassey when in Canberra.

Best gym ever! There is no lift to hotel floors, only stairs if mobility is an issue. Great French dining walking distance to the hotel. No breakfast is available at the hotel.

Lovely hotel in a heritage building in Canberra. Service was top notch as well as the room's cleanliness and comfort. Could not enjoy the spa as I did not have much time. Appreciated the coffee pods in the room as they are super handy for early mornings. Will definitely be back to enjoy the hotel again.

Though they advertise serving breakfast. They do not service breakfast at all. You have to go to a secondary location in another hotel. Rooms are adequate however, the cleaning needs improvement. There is a need for some minor repairs and a revamp. Most staff are friendly.

Try everywhere else first. When this hotel books out there isn't enough hot water to go around. The staff know this, when we provide our feedback to them they advised this happens and the system can't be upgraded. I feel this is important information for any to know when making a booking. I endured three nights here so you don't have to. Alongside water we had to contend with jammed windows so on a hot night you have to use the rattling air con. The in room coffee making requires you to down two flights of stairs heat milk. We were also missing a TV remote and had broken phone. At $300+ per night the quality is very poor. We chose the venue for the ease of access and visible charm however these are only skin deep.

We booked Brassey for our holiday in Canberra.
Staff:exceptional.
Location:exceptional
Room was with no view.
Just spa was booked out which was the main reason I booked in here.
Renovated rooms yet bathrooms are very small and hot water system is little difficult to adjust.

Great location and staff were wonderful. The rooms have apparently been renovated but there was a patch of mould, no fan in the bathroom, bathroom was not up to the standard that I’d expect (felt more like a motel) and the shower next door was horrendously loud. Thank god we were only there one night or I would have lost my mind with the shower noise. Superior room was a good size.
