Really is worth a stay! Great hosts...Clare and Ringo. We had Barra and veg for dinner...yum.
We parked the Van for the night...$10.
Showers and loos, but very rustic. Rustic, meaning, not 5 star...., but all you need. Thank you for your hospitality 🍻

Great old pub. Well worth the drive to see. Had a nice lunch there, old style steak Sanger. Good service. Like how the pub is not over renovated to keep its bush charm.

Best pub in the region. Simple tasty food, service with character and a smile, and quiet country views that can't be beat. If you are looking to have a quiet drink in the sunshine then head out on the old dirty road towards the Bowen River Hotel. Very clean and well kept. It is a bit of a drive but it is worth it. Head out on a hot day and ask for an "iceberg" you will receive a tall tin milkshake cup, the bottom hard with ice, filled with your drink of choice.

Beautiful place and super friendly owners. So much treasured history. Amazing architecture and lovely to see it hasn’t changed much from when it was built. Had a great time out there. Will definitely be back.

Lots of history here at the pub. Took dirt rd from Collinsville. New expensive bridge at Bowen River (damaged), so crossed via old causeway😁 Stayed for lunch(very good) & continued on to Burdekin Dam.

Absolutely amazing place..and a truly must visit. Ringo the owner is a awesome chap with good banter and local stories.. food is amazing and very cheap considering it's that far out. Well maintained and I very much enjoyed my Sunday spent there. Thank you Bowen River Hotel. Definitely wasn't my last visit there.

Drive out to the middle of know where, 116 kms West of Bowen 1hr 25mins drive. And what pops up...Bowen River Hotel a stones throw from Bowen River crossing. Lunch was yum...authentic pub lunch....A Real Burger!! Chips were magic! Regular pub prices. Cottage Style premises, lovely kept lawns. Was a surprising treat🥰

This is a must visit for those that like outback pubs etc. Yes the road it's dirt okay but drive to the conditions and you can get there easily even 2 wheel drive cars and vans can do it. Stop and look at the solar farm on the way you will be amazed. The pub is million star accommodation in that you can see every star in the sky at night and hear nothing but nature and the bush during the day. Bliss.
