Unfortunately this is a very run down and poorly run Motel. The owner is aggressive and rude. There has also been security issues involving Police and assaults . My room was appalling. Without exaggeration its was the worst accommodation I have ever experienced. The motel is surrounded by very high wire fences and flood lights. I was told to be back in my room by 8pm as they lock the gates and let the dogs out and turn the flood lights on. My room was lit by the flood lights all night. I was an intimidating experience. My room was not very secure with the doors and windows easily opened by trespassers which has happened previously to other guests. I don't like writing reviews like this and I understand there are other factors at play here but the owner is also part of the problem. Do your research before you stay,

Certainly nowhere close to a 4 star hotel, dated rooms, noisy heater, hard bed, unappealing in general. The person at reception appeared to do us a favour of having us staying there and it looked like we interrupted his day. Asking for a receipt was again like asking for a big favour. Our room across the main building had a great view of a corrugated fence, and around the yard an electric fence is installed and gates are locked with a chain and padlock at 8.30pm. Not exactly confidence inspiring. Sorry all up a very average experience, and certainly not worth the expensive room charge.

The comments made previously about the surliness of the bloke on reception are accurate. The fact that he is still there is indicative of what they think of their paying guests. ||The room we had was old and shabby. I know it is a heritage building (probably) but that doesn’t excuse saggy curtains and strange paintwork. The grounds too although cared for seemed very sad with bird poo on the chairs. ||The air conditioner had a mind of its own. We are glad we took our own pillows.||On the good side - plenty of hot water and TV had access to Netflix and other internet stations as well as free to air.

Booked a month in advance only to be allocated the wrong room.
Owner/manager become confused and even angry. No apology.
The room was old and in disrepair. Floor boards at different level, lights missing and key not opening or locking door with a lengthy struggle.

OMG, where to start with what is WRONG with this place? Tiny room with a weird mixture of what appears to be furniture from the local Op Shop, various religious pictures. Not clean to the point we were wiping surfaces with our own wipes. Fridge had an open tetra pack of milk, complete with a straw hanging out of the carton, not going near that! Went to make a cup of tea, empty tea bags, ie cover in the dish but not content. Bed had obviously not been changed since last customer. Luckily, we had our own pillows with us! Room very small. Not the place I expected from seeing the photos. Charged us $185 for one night, should have been way less than that for what we received.

Dirty dump. Plugged in the electric jug which blew all the power points. Black hairs and stains on the sheets…not sure if they had been changed. Toilet wobbled and shower was mouldy. If there hadn’t been carpet on the floor I would have put my foot through the floor boards.||All this for nearly $200 per night…I feel violated.

Stayed here twice in the last 12 months, pet friendly rooms, Clean and comfortable with all the extras to make the stay easy. Love the fact that this place has kept its heritage look about it, really cool to have a well maintained pool area and the bbq, tables and chairs make outdoor meals very enjoyable. With gardens full of different roses the grounds are a lovely place to explore or enjoy a very short stroll up the road to gain river access or have a delicious meal at the local bar. Hosts are welcoming and respect the privacy of guests.

Went to book in here this afternoon. They had availability. However the middle aged man asked for $195 for what he said was his only room.
I had his website up & showed him that they were offering 10%off for direct bookings.
He wouldn’t honor that & was very rude.
When he said “take it or leave it” we told him we were leaving it. I also mentioned that he had an attitude problem. He told me I had one!!!
Looked like it could have been a nice place to stay if it wasn’t for the ignorant egotistical prick running the show.
Have noticed other comments about him on here as well.
