We had our wedding at the Shade Garden inside CDBG. It’s beautiful, but you have to ask them all the questions, they’re not as forthcoming with helpful tips as they could be. I am from out of town and married a Darwin native and didn’t have a professional coordinator, so this caused some stress. We had the rehearsal 2 days in advance, we realized an elderly guest was going to have trouble accessing the location in the gardens. They only have one electric wheelchair and do not have golf carts, which 2 of my vendors said they had been telling the Botanic Garden for years would be a good idea. They finally said, “O we offer car permits for you to drive closer,” but I couldn’t get in contact with anybody from the Garden the next day and had to go up there on day before wedding and chase people around until somebody could find someone that knew about the car permits.

In sum, still beautiful and affordable location for wedding, but they could easily improve their event planning services.

We had our Wedding ceremony at the deck next to the fountain at Bontanic Gardens last 8th of October 2024
It was very beautiful as the sun comes down and fountain was on.
We really enjoyed and felt the great ambiance of the place. We were lucky, not much people were there during the entire ceremony and we felt like the place was exclusive for us.
Staffs who assisted us were also great and really tried their best to help us and gave us options. Special thanks to Ms. Sophie on helping us to have that particular venue for our event. It was lovely and I can recommend it to others and to have your special event here. Just contact their friendly staff. God Bless everyone

Lovely venue, good service, and an excellent evening. Thank you. No doubt Eva's Catering was always confident of its ability to deliver on the day.
But your tardiness in responding to our emails, and especially our requests for an invoice, left us unnerved that something would go wrong. Even on the day staff did not present for an appointment, or alert Convention Centre staff of the need to receive and refrigerate cakes.
A little more effort is needed to reassure clients that their booking is LOCKED in.

Awesome experience. Place is beautiful and I had my daughter’s birthday in the events centre. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Only issue was they reply to emails very late. Have to go there each time to communicate with them. But they have given a wonderful service on the event day.
