This is a good local bakery on Burgess Street in the Bicheno town centre. They have indoor and outdoor seating and are open from 6am to 3pm daily.

We popped in during a recent stay in Bicheno and were served up a good spinach sausage roll and Tassie scallop pie. Coffees served were much better than your run of the mill bakery coffees as well. Prices good, service friendly, would gladly return to Blue Edge Bakery.

This bakery was so good we had to go back the next day! The curried scallop pie was delicious. My family enjoyed the sausage rolls which were generous in size with a flaky pastry and super tasty flavour. They had to go back to have another as they were so tasty. We also tried some of the cakes and slices which were excellent. The coffee was strong and smooth. This is one of the best bakeries we’ve tried on our Tassie travels. Don’t miss out on this one if you are in the area.

Dining Experience @ Blue Edge Bakery.
.
We stopped by Blue Edge Bakery on our road trip, to stock up on some of their wide range of pastries and confectioneries.
.
We loved the Meat Pie Scallop Mornay (AUD $10.50), quite different from the usual curried rendition around these parts. This features tender juicy morsels of deshelled scallops, diced potatoes, white onions, and carrots, in a creamy mornay cheese gravy. Served within a crumbly pie pastry crust that is nicely butter glazed, has a sweet savoury milky cheesy salty flavour.
.
The Fairy Biscuit (AUD $2.40) was a fun and playful morsel. Layered with raspberry jam, this has a firm crunch to texture, with bright biscuity candied earthy floral sweet flavour.
.
We enjoyed their rendition of the Sausage Roll (AUD $4.50). The exterior puff pastry was crisp flaky with buttery sweet savoury flavour, while the interior filling of minced beef and carrots was tender with meaty vegetal salty sweet savoury flavour. Dressed with tomato ketchup for added vegetal sour sweet flavour. Liked it enough that we ordered another one!

A busy and popular bakery that is open really early. The selection is huge and the prices are really affordable. Had my first Tasmanian mornay scallop pie and can say it was tasty- there’s also a curry version. Nothing beats an original meat pie but wouldn’t mind trying all the other available flavours too. We managed to get the first hot crossed buns they have done this year and they were good! Coffee was on point and the staff are so friendly. No wonder both locals and tourists flock here.

Tasty roll, pie and milkshake! Appreciated the two veg options (veg pie or veg feta, spinach, potato roll).

Only bought a sausage roll but was stoked on the price, quantity of options and fast service. Beginning to wish I tried a pie too. Add a bit of sauce and you'll have yourself a tasty snack.

Brownie was good. Didn’t like the salmon panini taste bland and didn’t have enough salmon. Pies are okay. Good customer service.
