I dined in on Saturday morning (5 Oct) and I can safely say I will never be back. This spot has been a go-to for so long but this last visit has left me lost for words. Firstly the service is horrific - it takes about 1% of effort to just give the slightest amount of customer service. If your employees hate their job then get rid of them, it completely ruins the atmosphere and customer experience. Secondly, I don’t know who decided to cut portions but it was a terrible decision. As per the photo, I ordered the avocado bruschetta (Italians would be absolutely going off if they saw the monstrosity that Blackwood St call “bruschetta”). I paid $22 for one small piece of stale & chewy bread, smeared with a poor amount of browning avocado and 5 halves/2.5 whole cherry tomatoes. There were onions but the amount of onion was so little I don’t even think it should be mentioned.

just for comparison, Vito’s at Everton park have avocado feta and lemon on toast for $17 and you get two full slices of it! I would very happily pay $22+ for avo and tomato on toast but it has to actually be good.

An excellent cafe with great coffee & milkshakes! Friendly staff who are very promptly keen to serve you & have you comfortably seated at the tables outside! Wheelchair access to the cafe is available for the disabled ♿customers! I recently enjoyed eggs & bacon with hollandaise sauce with hash browns with a Vienna coffee. A great atmosphere & many families enjoying a meal together.🦋💑👑 Omg the fruit & nut toast is yum.

Great local spot for coffee and brekkie. Unfortunately the ambience was completely spoiled today but a young woman behind the coffee machine screaming out names for orders. She was REALLY loud and absolutely not needed. What a way to ruin a lovely morning in an otherwise well run cafe.

The cafe has been my favourite cafe for a few years now but that has not been the case over the past few months. Today they had the doors almost fully closed 30 minutes before their close time, other customers were still eating so we stood at the door hoping they'd serve us take away but they completely ignored us, saw us waiting but didn't even bother to say something as simple as "sorry we've closed early".
Not to mention staff have been quite rude on previous occasions.
Getting pretty disappointed and really hope they take their reviews seriously so we can all enjoy this little spot again.

$8 for an avocado and toast kids plate, hardly any spread. Crazy price for a kids meal.

Also they allow dogs that are dangerous, almost bit my kid.

Great tasting food, however for the hefty price you pay (very expensive compared to Hobby Lane), the portions could be a lot better. Staff are lovely but can seem unenthusiastic depending on the day.

This cafe is filthy! The floors, walls all chipped, windows, chairs, stools and outside is much worse. Stinking bin, which wasn't emptied even when they closed! Never swept outside.

Don't know why people go there!

The staff look miserable with not one smile. The young waiter was polite but didn't look at me. Sweet potato fries were burnt.

Needs to change for me to ever go back.

Pancakes were great but my caesar salad was dire, I wouldn’t feed it to a guinea pig. The lettuce was old, pink and rotten. Lots of flies. No one asked if our meals were ok so we just left. Paid extra being Easter holidays too. Disappointing. Won’t be back.
