We were travelling Launceston to Strahan on a Sunday and saw that his hotel had a roast for lunch in its restaurant on Sunday. $25 a head. It was only 6 km off the tracked route and made a nice break there for lunch. The roast was lamb and tasty not over cooked. I liked that the gravy was served in a small jug on the side. Spuds looked as if they had been boiled but were good|| The voast pumpkin was very good. The rest of vegies such as cabbage cauliflower etc were ok but partner didn’t like so much. I ate all. Special treat was glass of Hardys cab merlot The Riddler. Great so bought a bottle was only $10. Special. ||There was a waterfall to view outside and a gaggle of old cars, Triumphs, Vanguard and mini. Interesting !!!

Great pub the soundtrack is great suits it to a tee, we both had the classic Parmy, chips & salad firstly the size of the feed 👌 “bloody hell…massive” $25 ✅ my partner couldn’t finish it. Beers were cold, wine was great very well stocked bar & friendly service, the view from the bar over the waterfall is magnificent. We didn’t stay so I can’t comment on the rooms but by all accounts they are clean & comfortable. Definitely recommend a stay in Waratah a feed n beer at the Biscoff Hotel & a wander around town great little place

We stopped for lunch at this characterful hotel and were so impressed with our meals - the roast of the day was fantastic. The service was friendly and helpful.
Waratah is a delightful little town with historical information and things to explore. A town worth stopping for.

While staying at the caravan park we went to the hotel for dinner. We were warned that booking is essential, how true. We managed to secure an early seating at six o’clock which was fine. We soon discovered why bookings were essential, the place was bopping. An obvious reason for the popularity is that it’s the ONLY eatery in Waratah. The next reason surfaced when our meals were served, absolutely to die for and reasonably priced too! Along with drinks, good service and excellent ambience we had a most enjoyable evening! Can definitely recommend and we will be back!

Fantastic spot, only 40 minutes from Cradle Mountain and excellent facilities and staff. I called to let them know I'd be late for check in, the woman we.t out of her way to find a way to help me, arranged a poor staff person to get out of bed to assist, they were very understanding and helpful and even opened up the shop treats for me as I hadn't had dinner. The facilities are sparkling clean, really quiet, beds are very comfy, but you still get a TV, desk etc which you shouldn't for the price. There's even a shared kitchen and free breakfast which was great also. The hotel faces a beautiful lookout with waterfall and historical water features, there's free off street parking and endemic pademelons sitting outside at night. I'll definitely be back.

This relic of the early 1900’s is the heart and sole of Waratah, and like the town itself, has seen better days. Our room came with it’s own bathroom and a waterfall view.Room was small, maybe 15 sq metres. It is unfair to compare an old country hotel to a modern city hotel. It cannot be held to the same standards. But there were numerous instances where it is reasonable to expect better. The mattress was very old and sagged inwards. The windows were made to be opened but could not be.The instant coffee in the room was literally past it’s use by date-by two years. But there is no denying it is atmospheric with old wood panelling, coloured glass window, high ceiling downstairs and bits of memorabilia such as the shattered prop from an early plane crash near Waratah. That should not excuse or make up for short comings such as those noted, especially as it was quite expensive.

Stayed here earlier in the year.
I wouldn't recommend it. The rooms are very run down. (They have a very good photographer)and the staff weren't friendly at all. Seemed to be annoyed that they had customers

Waratah is very beautiful though
