We paid $200 for 3 nights for an unpowered site and found there to be 20cm high prickle bushes and broken glass through the site we were given. The plus side was the showers were very good, great water pressure and always hot water available with no line up, particularly as the park was booked out. A convenient location to Birdsville bakery, hotel and service station. A shame our site filled our van with prickles!

I don't like not giving 5 stars but we booked a cabin for $197 and it has issues. It was comfortable but just had no privacy as there was no curtains on the front door so the people camping not far from our door could see right inside at night. I'll forgive a lot when it comes to accommodation but not a complete lack of privacy. I did let the very friendly lady who checked us in know and she said they were aware and planned to fix it but until then I couldn't recommend staying in a cabin here.

Apart from that it was clean, had a laundry and you could walk everywhere in town. Once the privacy issue is fixed it will be great.

Spent a couple of nights in one of the self contained cabins. Checking in was a breeze with pleasant staff. Cabin was well prepared, clean & a decent size for 5 adults. The double & two single beds were comfortable as well as the couch one of our group had to use. Cooking supplies were adequate but the frypan wasn't the best for bacon & eggs. Thank goodness a good soak got it clean. Laundry facilities were good too & no one complained about the shower at the end of tge day. Our patio furniture never got used due to the strong cool southerly winds but it would be a nice view for breakfast in more pleasant weather.

Birdsville caravan park|We had booked and paid for 2 nights for a powered site. But because of the amount of rain they had had it was a quagmire were we had to park and caravan. Of course the weather was out of their control. We would recommend they put gravel down or better still concret slabs at the campsite. We paid $79 a night for a powered site which was expectable for this time of the year. You could easily walk to the famous Birdsville pub and bakery which we did. The staff at the park were friendly on arrival. I stopped and chatted to Ashleigh a local young girl and the cleaner of the toilet and shower blocks. She had her work cut out for her with all the mud trekked into these blocks. She was very friendly and happy to get on with the work and spend a little time yarning out her local tribe and connection to her country. I liked the Dimeatina billabong out the back of the park. There was a lot bird life on the billabong.|We only stayed the one night because once you spent time at the pub and had the pie from bakery there wasn't a lot else going on unless you were attending the Big Red Bash. We would come back but for the horse racing day which another local told me was a great event.

This review is purely on my experience in cabin Number 2. |First of all lets stop calling it a cabin (lol), it's a donga with a kitchen. I live in dongas so I know what one is. It's a tad outdated with the 80's doona cover and the wooden lino walls. But the bed was comfy enough. It has the best sunrises from out the front of the cabin. The park is across the road from the servo, so handy. And within walking distance of the pub (only place to eat in town for dinner to my knowledge). From memory it was $120, and that to me was a fair price for being a tad outdated. The office was closed when I got there, after reading reviews it seems it's not open often anyway. But the manager lives onsite diagonally to the office. the are cabins over looking the river but 1,2 & 3 are NOT those cabins. It did the job and I'd possibly consider staying in it again. Might upgrade to a deluxe one if I came back.
