We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Big4 Tasmania Holiday Parks (Ballina)! The accommodation was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We loved the fully equipped kitchen, which made it easy to prepare meals during our stay. The facilities for kids were fantastic—our children had a blast! The pool area was a real highlight for us, with both the pool and the hot spa being incredibly relaxing. We’d highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a family-friendly getaway.

A powered van site over the busy holiday weekend. This park is an off the radar gem. Clean and excellent amenities block, shady landscaped surroundings. The park is a credit to the whole team. A nice vibe with lots of families and happy kids. A good midway base Ballina or Lennox, walking or cycling , otherwise a short car trip to either.

We arrived after hours when it was dark. (Sept 14) Text from Park had said to collect check-in kit from safe, for which a code was provided. Text also said there would be instructions on the boom gate code in the kit. We collected the kit from the safe OK, but couldn’t read the site map in the dark and missed the bit where it said tourism site visitors didn’t need a code to get through the boom gate and could just use the fob on the keyring. We couldn't work out how to get in. Finally got through in the wake of another vehicle. The cabin number - 10 - was written on the site map way up in the corner where the residential sites were. As a result we went to residential site 10, not tourist site 10, and naturally the key wouldn’t open the door. We had to call for help three times on the emergency number to find the right cabin and also to sort out the boom gate business. This took about half an hour. The location of the tourist cabin should have been circled on the map, not just written randomly up near the wrong site.. But the emergency helper on duty was very pleasant and patient and helpful, and the cabin was very comfortable.

Perfect location. Can walk to the beautiful nearby beach. Not too far from shops if you need to get some groceries.
The residents living there make it quite clear they don’t like visitors despite the fact that’s exactly what it is - a holiday park. Kids get into trouble from the residents for having fun on their holiday.
Cockroaches in our cabin. It’s winter time so it wasn’t down to heat. Nor was it because of us, they were there to greet us on arrival. There was a big spray already in the cabin suggesting they were aware of the issue. Didn’t enjoy getting up for the toilet to find cockroaches crawling the wall and bench top. Apart from them, the cabin was nice. Well presented and ideal size for what we needed.
Pool looked clean but again, it’s winter, I didn’t use it.
Probably wouldn’t go back. It was fine for 3 nights.

NOT A PARK FOR ANYONE WITH A TENT!
I booked a powered ensuite sight for my partner's birthday. Looking at previous reviews, we were pretty happy with the spot. However, on our first night, it rained. The weather was not a problem; the issue was that the campsite had 0 undercover areas to shelter or eat our dinner, and the park did not state that half the park amenities were shut down due to maintenance. The park had a community hall, which we ended up finding by looking at the signs however, we got in trouble with the residents as it is not meant to be open to the campers of the park and apparently, there are lines on the floor stating this (that you cannot see in the dark, let alone whilst raining). There are 2 portable BBQs with a small canopy over them. However, the small picnic table next to these is out in the rain. This is the "camp kitchen", with a fridge in the laundry area. We ended up packing up and leaving with our son as the rain was expected to continue all weekend and left late Friday night, dropping our keys at the after-hours key box (which was broken too, no after hours number). Disappointed considering the $ nowadays & I cannot get a refund or cancel unless it's 72 hours prior.

This place was lovely. Hot spa is amazing. It rained our whole week but our cabin was clean and comfortable. Staff were so helpful. Also an aviation geek’s dream as it’s under the local airport flight path. Highly recommend staying here, perfect for teens and families.

Definitely do not recommend the small cabins, the shower head fell off the shower and hit me in the head and there are no showers other then the one near the sites which has no privacy whatsoever, not that were written on the map anyway. The water just dribbles out. We tried to use the heater on the air conditioner and it does nothing. It’s very run down inside. I don’t recommend booking the smaller cabins if you have a porta cot as the rooms are very small, they won’t fit. I was pretty excited to stay in this park as I always have a great experience with big 4, not this time. I paid way to much for one night to have this experience, thankful I’m leaving tomorrow.

Unfortunately, we were only here for one night. We had a wonderful stay. The campground was one of the nicest on our trip so far. We can only recommend it to anyone. Very friendly staff, well-maintained and modern facilities, lots of options for children. Many thanks for a short but wonderful stay.
