Good park close to the beach. The amenities were clean but not the best we’ve seen. The radio in the amenities was nice, though! Beach is good for fishing but not swimming. Ice creams at the reception were overpriced. We had a great view of the red moon from our site.

A lovely man at the reception. He was really welcoming and friendly. We felt more like friends than customers.
The kitchens are clean and you have everything you need. The toilets are also good and clean. You have direct access to the beach from the campground and the view is spectacular. It's wonderful to watch the sunset and relax a bit.

Stayed here camping with the fam in January 2025. Such a beautiful spot so we extended our stay longer than planned. Kids had a ball in the pool, friendly service and clean amenities we will visit again one day.

Disappointing Stay with Unfriendly Staff

We stayed at this caravan park for a few days, and while the grounds were nice, our experience was ruined by several issues with the staff.
When we first arrived, we were placed near a neighbor who watered their garden over the fence, soaking our entire tent.

The real problem started in the shared kitchen. As we carefully stored our food in a bag with our name on it. One morning, we found our bag outside the fridge after the staff had finished “cleaning.” The food was warm, and we had to throw it all away, which was quite costly for us. When we asked the staff why it was removed, they claimed not to know. We asked if they could check the cameras, as we were certain it was someone from the staff, but the lady in the office was dismissive, claiming the cameras didn’t work and insisting the staff wouldn’t do such a thing.

To make matters worse, the same neighbor watered their garden again, soaking our tent. We went to the office to ask for help, and the same rude lady was there. She was already annoyed when we approached, and when we explained the situation, she told us it wasn’t her problem and that she couldn’t speak to the neighbor because she couldn’t leave the office. There were three other staff members present, but none of them offered to help or show any concern.

Overall, the lack of customer service and the rude attitude of the staff really soured our experience. We’ve stayed at caravan parks for the past 4 months and never encountered such unfriendly staff. Very disappointing.

The holiday park offers a pleasant beachfront setting and a range of basic amenities. The location is great for beach access and the grounds are well-maintained. However, the cabins are quite basic and could benefit from some updates. The staff are friendly and the park is generally clean. It’s a good spot for a simple, no-frills stay but might not meet expectations for those looking for more upscale accommodations.

Stayed for 3 weeks had an issue when we left told me I'd only paid for 6 and not 7 days when I specifically said another week. No apology or anything it was like pay up not very people friendly the owners. On the upside the pool was nice. Little pricey for powered sites and tje prices double in the holidays

We has a beach front site and the views from the back of the van were outstanding. This is one of our favourite caravan parks that we return to each year. We just open our back doors and we're amazed at the views.

This was the third stay for my wife and I at BIG4 Mackay Blacks Beach Holiday Park. We have returned to this park because it is a very pleasant caravan park. It is small, and the sites are compact but it is in a good location. This stay we managed to get a beachfront site. It was very long, so we had plenty of room to park our car in front of the caravan. The site has fake grass which is getting tired and worn.|The beachfront site allowed us to walk straight out the back onto the beach. The downside of the location was the on shore winds!|The park is about 1 minutes drive from shops etc, so it is necessary to drive to stock up. There are however, plenty of options within reasonable driving distance.||Overall we give BIG4 Mackay Blacks Beach Holiday Park, 4 stars out of 5
