We had a fantastic time with 4 family’s at the Big Hill Cottages. The set up of these cabins is ideal for your family to occupy 1 cabin and have plenty of space from the other cabins. It is even better to book a few cabins and have a large group there. There are great communal BBQ areas and large open spaces where a number of families can get together for dinner.

The property is so nice and quiet even in peak holiday periods. We can not wait to go back and hope to make it an annual trip as our kids grow up. They had a ball and so did the parents.

There are great beach options close to by to have you protected by the wind and catching the most of what ever swell is on offer.

All round a fantastic Aussie beach get away in a lovely bush property.

Our Big Hill Beach Cottage stay with family and friends was a delightful combination of both the peaceful countryside and the gorgeous beach across the road, providing the ideal setting for us to reset and unwind for the week. The chic cottages offered the comfort of home, including air-conditioning, a modern bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Enjoying breakfast on the patio with natural surroundings and wildlife, including kangaroos passing by, created enjoyable moments.

Wonderful location with close access to the beach. Very quiet and serene, making it easy to get away from it all. Mobile reception is limited to the beach and surrounding headlands.
Each cottage is fully equipped with large rooms and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
The outdoor fire pits are an added bonus, and a great place to come together.
We stayed for a family weekend (all 6 cottages booked), and it was excellent for the all 3 generations with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their own space but able to come together as well.
We will definitely be back!

We had such a lovely, relaxing time away with our family. The rooms were clean, fresh and child friendly, we especially enjoyed cottage 1 as it had a swing right outside.
It felt very private, and it was super close to the beach. We loved utilising the beautiful fire pits, toasting marshmallows and keeping warm of an evening.
The weather was amazing, the wildlife put on a show, echidnas, snakes, birds, crabs, fish, lizards and more.
Only downside was absolutely no phone service (telstra, or optus) unless we walked over to the beach, but it was nice to switch off from technology for a few days and enjoy our location.

Cabins were spotless and the kitchen had all the utensils and cuttlery we needed. The cabin also had good air con. Well equipped in terms of having spare fan, washing machine, pegs, dustpan and broom - basically everything you need to have a comfortable stay. I recommend highly for families or groups.

A lot of the windows didn’t have blinds (mainly the ones facing other cabins) and all the water shower and taps are creek water and stunk bad, couldn’t shower or otherwise I’d smell like a creek… also I think it’s a bit overpriced for what it is

We took our children and their friends here for their birthday party. We had two cabins and both were perfectly clean and couldn't complain about the great fit out and kitchen assessories. Bbq's all clean as well. Lola was so friendly and obviously a hard little worker. The cabins were extremely well equipped. The only issue we had was the heat in the cabins and Not even any ceiling fans in the bedrooms, this was a little disappointing. The table tennis, pool were not there and tennis courts as advertised were not able to be used as not complete. If the lawns had been mowed so we weren't tramping through long grass would have been good. A little disappointed with these minor details but certainly wouldn't take away from recommending this great spot!

Impressed by the TripAdvisor reviews of this place we booked 5 days for our family including Grandma and loved it. So quiet and peaceful (though do note there is NO mobile service unless you are right out on the beach!). Simple and practical cottage layout for beach holiday. Heaps of space. Quite new and mostly functional kitchen - with a dishwasher! Indoor shower pressure disappointing so good thing we weren't too worried about that (except Grandma, perhaps!) - quick outdoor showers sufficed for our short stay. Very quick hop across the road to a gorgeous, quiet beach. Plenty of fauna (kangaroos, goannas, multitudes of birds and even an echidna) delighted young and old. Tennis court newly refurbished. Bindiis deterred other outdoor games but the beach was the main attraction. And the fire-pit for nightly campfires and marshmallows. Highly recommend both the coffee and pizzas just down the road at the Bush Kitchen Cafe. Would never want to stay in Crescent Head township having now experienced this privacy and peacefulness. Interested patrons should note it is dirt road out from town, and we are also disappointed that, somehow, by booking via TripAdvisor, we have been charged a higher rate than that quoted on the accomodation's actual website. But it won't stop us coming back - just buyer beware!
