Fiona is such a nice host & gave very clear instructions on the directions to the farm so we didn't have difficulties locating it although it was a 20mins drive from Bellingen town. She's very thorough to explain many things to us and even helped us through the first feeding telling us stories about the animals. Our girls enjoyed very much n they did the feeding on their own the 2nd day. We only had a little inconvenience washing dishes with the pressed type of tap in kitchen, everything else was good. It was a memorable stay 🙂

We stayed at Bellingen Farmstay due to a recommendation by Bellingen Visitors Information Centre. They probably oversold it and I didn't do enough research as the location didn't suit our needs (its actually in Brierfield not Bellingen). It was hard for us to find, and we were expecting something a lot nicer for our $200 per night stay (we stayed two nights in the school holidays). We found the people in the other side of the cottage to be very noisy. On the upside, Fiona was accommodating, the kids enjoyed the animals, and we were able to catch up on some washing as we had been on the road a while. But to assess the property in terms of value for money, there are other really modern cottages in the area for the same price which are much, much closer to town. Should have used Trip Advisor!

We stayed there for 3 nights. We loved the location. Waking up early with the fields full of cows and horses, river view and chicken at your door...kids loved it. It is a quiet and lovely farm. We were a bit disappointed with the kitchen. It was nearly impossible to cook a dinner for 4 on a portable electric stove so we went out for dinner instead for the 3 nights (the drive to Bellingen at night is a bit long). Carpets and bed spreads were a bit dusty/old but beds were comfortable. It is quite remote, with little to no mobile coverage at all. For this reason, I would have liked a wi-fi connection at least. With little renovations, they can have a winner accommodation. An overall good stay.

We have recently spent a week at Bellingen Farmstay in NSW. We travelled as 2 families of 4, each family staying in one of the 2 bedroom apartments. Overall we had a lovely time as we were in wonderful company and discovered a stunning part of the world.||However....||The accommodation itself was very tired and basic. At $130 per night I was expecting more. The furniture and decor have obviously not been washed or replaced in many years. Given that the apartments are advertised as 'self-contained' and the kitchen was described by the owner as 'having everything your kitchen at home would have,' we were not expecting to have to make the rather long journey into town on our first day (after a full day of travel to get there) to buy bare essentials such as toilet paper and soap. We were given 2 sachets of coffee, 2 teabags, 1 roll of toilet paper and about half a cup of dishwashing detergent. We were also given a vacuum cleaner that didn't work and told 'by definition' that the place needed to be left very clean and tidy. ||In my travelling experience, gestures such as providing a welcome pack, giving a brief orientation on arrival, providing maps and brochures on things to do in the area and generally being available leave a lasting impression. These gestures were definitely not made. Rather, we were given an exhaustive list of rules we had to sign agreement to.||Although the area is very beautiful and we did enjoy our day trips, the farm is a good 30min drive to Bellingen and day trips were quite an effort with small children. The advertised babysitting service didn't seem like such a great idea when we realised how far we would actually have to venture from the farm to find a restaurant.||On a positive note, our children thoroughly enjoyed the animal feeding each morning.

We stayed for 2 nights with one couple in a unit and 2 couples in the other unit. The building were older and lived in but nothing you wouldn't expect to see on a farm.|We all had a great stay with privacy and comfort. Wood fires with plenty of fuel for them. We had afternoon drinks and nibblies in a quaint entertainment area on the back porch watching the cows and pet sheep. Pricing was good compared to others on offer closer to town. We cooked when we needed to and went 20 mins into town if necessary. Very professionally run.

Farm is very scenic and peaceful but not much in the way of 'animal experiences' for the kids due to current restrictions which seemed highly illogical. Our kids enjoyed the paddle boat on the river and the bonfire one evening the most. Biggest downfall though were the super uncomfortable beds which are really in need of an upgrade.
