I've lived in The Beachcomber for five years now and I have to say it's not the best but she's old she was built in the 80s but she still holding strong the reason my review today is because they went above and beyond to help me for a couple of days and let me borrow a little fridge seeing that my landlord can't replace it straight away.

I can't fault that nice maintenance man he's always here and you always feels in I don't know why he's not the one that's full-time guys you have got a great worker there and a great guy as well always so nice to customers and always has a helping hand five stars to him seriously.

Yes I have had my troubles with the front desk but I think because of all the people that they come through and let's face it most people are assholes these days they've got to deal with them so I can't fault them either.

Guys if you want to stay in a reliable place she might not be the best she is getting done up but if you're the fan of the 80s and of a historic buildings and stuff like that the beach Camry is a good place to stay.

I’m not going to return. Staff were unpleasant, our first room wasn’t cleaned properly so we had to change rooms which was inconvenient. The shower doors don’t stop the water spilling out then they charge for extra towels. I’ve had better cleanliness, politeness and a better time staying at dingy motels. The saving grace is the view.

we stayed 5 Nights, we were told to pay for extra towels if we wanted any more. Our beds which were put together, had 2 sheets and a thin blanket, the Kmart pretty soft ones that do nothing and give no warmth it’s more for a sofa. The dishes were DIRTY and had food in the bowls. I left the dishes cleaner than how we found them from the last people that used them!

Great spot to stay, loved the location with it being close to everything and in walking distance. The room was very clean, the bed wasn’t too bad to sleep in for a hotel bed. The customer service was great. Have already recommended staying here to family and friends.

This hotel charges if you leave rubbish in your room on your check out and they don’t even make guests aware of that (we didn’t get any letter with their rules) - they act like if they were not a hotel, blaming the cleaners for the charge. They don’t work as whole team, it seems the cleaning company is a subcontractor. Then when cleaners come into your room without prior request they act like a hotel justifying that is because the cleaning lady has a master key! It’s such a mess, terrible service.

REGARDING THE OWNER’s ANSWER BELOW (somehow I wasn’t able to reply, had to edit): ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Guess what?! The person who replies Google reviews (owner?) is also as rude as every single employee there. The thing is not the rules not being followed, we had the document signed but your employee who checked us in should have mentioned that too. She clearly forgot to give the ‘welcome’ letter with the “rubbish” rule and you know that. Just check other reviews and you’ll realize that other people were caught by the same issue - not aware about things, being charged for everything. Why didn’t you learn from this? If I need to learn how to read you need to learn how to host a guest (specially because you sell the place as a resort). IT IS NOT TRUE that we left dishes to be washed, because we didn’t even use them (we thought they were disgusting, due to the cockroaches yet mentioned in other 34 reviews). We used disposable for an obvious hygienic reason. ALSO NOT TRUE that we had these rules displayed in our unit on the back of the entry door. My biggest mistake was not taking pictures to proof when liars say the opposite.

The location is great! Exactly at the heart of Surfer’s Paradise.
Easy to get around, close to great cafes and restaurant as well as the beach.
We love the indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Great for the kids.
The sauna could be a tad hotter, but cant complaint.
The spa is small but sufficient.
We (my daughter and me) stayed at the budget studio and the room is huge!

Worst service. Never seen this kind of hotel before. They are money suckers. If I check out a little late then they want money. they want that the room should be neat and clean when we leave. Rubbish should be thrown in big bin located at the parking level and all utensils must be washed otherwise they charge 20 dollars extra. Even the lady at the reception doesn’t have the sense how to deal and how to behave with customers. They just want money. and the room was too old. The blanket was terrible as shown in picture. Don’t visit here plz.

A friend and I booked a 9-day stay at Beachcomber Resort for our trip to Australia, but it was a disappointing experience. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were rude and unfriendly. We had booked a sea-view apartment, but the room did not match the advertised photos at all. It was dated, the bed was two singles pushed together with poor bedding, and there was hair on the bathroom floor. The ceiling fan was rusty and dirty and dust on surfaces and the windows were extremely dirty. When we politely complained, staff failed to apologise. Although a cleaner later vacuumed, the situation was handled unprofessionally and we spoke to the reception asking if we were in the right room which she explained the photos are just an 'idea' of what you are paying for which is extremely miss leading.

The night security guard who handled reception in the later hours was also rude. We were alarmed upon arrival because we received a piece of paper with house keeping rules that included a bold notice instructing us to keep all windows and doors locked at all times. When we asked to use the safe, staff claimed, “the owners don’t allow us to give the keys out,” which felt odd and unsafe as us being two young woman with valuables.

We read google reviews during our stay which confirmed that other guests were experiencing the same problems in which we also noticed the owner of Beachcomber is having conversations about the issues, as well as accusing the customers of being 'incorrect' publicly in comment sections which is extremely unprofessional. We read that others had not received their money back so upon checkout, we asked for confirmation of our $300 deposit return either in a reciept or a written email, but the receptionist refused. It’s now day seven, and the deposit still has not been refunded.

Our key card stopped working on day four, and reception dismissed us until we provided video proof. Additionally, there was no daily cleaning, and we were told to take out rubbish and pay extra for towels which was strange for a place that advertises themselves as a 'resort', again, miss leading. Beachcombers service is appalling and not worth the money, especially if you are looking to have a good experience overseas. Through all of our hiccups at our stay there was not one apology from any staff member or even an offer for a partial refund or any kind of compensation on their end.
