Fantastic spot for authentic Thai cuisine! The food is absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who make the dining experience even better. The location is also perfect, adding to the overall charm of the place.

The only downside is that it’s a bit on the pricey side, but considering the portion sizes and quality, it’s understandable. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving great Thai food!

Basil Nut is (in my opinion) the best and most popular Asian restaurant in the blue mountains. The food here was outstanding as always, delicious fried rice, soup, stir fries. We did get our foods at different times, but it doesn't matter too much. Overall, brilliant restaurant definetely recommend

It was our first time dining at Basil Nut Cafe & Restaurant. We absolutely loved it. The restaurant has such a cosy and welcoming atmosphere—it genuinely felt like enjoying a home-cooked meal in someone’s beautifully set-up living room. The food was fantastic, with every dish full of flavour and care. The standout for us was definitely the eggplant duck curry—rich, comforting, and perfectly cooked. If you’re in Katoomba and craving authentic Asian cuisine, Basil Nut Cafe & Restaurant is an absolute must-visit! After a week of enjoying Western food across NSW, this hidden gem truly stood out as the best Thai restaurant we’ve experienced in the state.

The food was exceptional—each signature dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. We savored the cashew chicken and prawn, the eggplant with duck curry, and the stir-fried black pepper beef. To top it off, the black glutinous rice with ice cream was the perfect dessert to end the evening.

What made the experience even more memorable was the warm hospitality. The owners and chefs, who are Thai, not only showcased their culinary expertise but also excelled in customer service, making us feel right at home.

Very friendly service. Good quality food and nice atmosphere. Crowded especially on Easter day. Staff arrangements the table quickly for 6 people. Food was pretty good and really enjoyed. Recommended.

BasilNut is a nice little place snugged in a alley along Katoomba St. It's basically a Thai restaurant run by young staff, and the ambience was great. Cosy place. It has outdoor sitting n indoor too.

We were there for lunch and ordered the Tomyam fried rice chicken plus veg spring rolls. To be honest, I've never tasted such terrible fried rice whether in or outside of Thailand. The rice wasn't even fried properly, I reckoned it must have been done very quickly. Big disappointment!

But the service was good. Staff were friendly and pleased to engage with patrons.

On the whole, i still like the place and would probably order somethg else in future. But I doubt I will eat here again if there were other choices available in Blue Mt.
