Great coffee and food in Benowa!
Such a lovely spot! The flat white was smooth and perfectly made, the spicy pork poke bowl was full of flavor, and the beef burger was super juicy and satisfying. Great service and an amazing selection of baked goods. Can’t wait to visit again!

It was the day before Halloween and no creatures were visible except for clearance stock at the local discount store. Yes I’ve decided to visit Benowa Gardens shopping center.

Today I discovered Base Kitchen and Bar for lunch.

Location is just off the car park and opposite KFC but with a nice shaded screen of plants and windows.

Modern feel, good menu options.

I stayed with trying the Açaí matched with a EBT.

Açaí was of course my go to. Good selection of fruits. The mint leaves may not suit everyone but I liked them. Açaí was a little wet for me. Overall very nice.

Tea was good with two small cups from the pot.

Excellent coffee and efficient service. I specifically want to commend the young boys working at the register and clearing tables; they were friendly and efficient, and it's refreshing to see younger kids working hard.

The individual taking orders listened and read back every order to the customer, which is an excellent way to show they are paying attention to what the customer wants/needs, but also helps reduce errors and customer complaints.

I was so impressed I mentioned it to my girlfriends when I delivered the coffee! I will definitely be back.

My only small gripe? I asked for a tiny bit of milk - like 1 TBS - in my iced long black and was charged 80c for it 🙁

I travel everywhere with a carer, we are always on the look out for great new Cafes to try out. This another one we have added to our list. We can also go shopping. Definitely therapy for the body and mind. Thanks Jess to my beautiful carers for finding us another one for the list.

I will go back every day just to see the beautiful lady at the front counter. The way she greets and interacts with customers and is always smiling and super helpful. You can't help but walk away feeling better. And she makes a ripper coffee too! Thanks Kris, you're a beautiful person.

In the middle of your typical everyday suburban shopping centre lies this hidden gem of a cafe. The staff are super friendly and the food is just amazing. We snuck in a couple of latte’s with a mushroom omelette and the Canadian waffles and ended up staying for a couple of hours enjoying the atmosphere. The cafe is dog friendly and there were a few furry friends enjoying a lie down in the sun. Thanks Base team, see you again soon.

Good coffee

They were busy when we visited so things were a bit muddled. Banana bread arrived 15 minutes before the coffee and after 20 minutes the plain croissant was nowhere to be seen.

However, the staff were lovely and refunded the croissant with a smile. So what was about to be a 2 star review jumped up to 5 stars.

The importance of a smile!
